JL has been an awesome player for us. Well worth the effort. A recruiting coup.

What I don't get is how he has another 2 years on his contract after this.

What, after 3 years of being a really good player for us we are FINALLY seeing why they didn't hang on to him?

Lyons has given us years of awesome service but I think his limitations have really been accentuated this year. Either because of age or the game changing.

Stewie Dew may be feeling slightly smug though.

He has helped in our rise to the top 4 so I still think we can be the smug ones.

Yep, just a question that popped into my head on reading some of the stuff said about Jarryd lately, overall he has been great however does our midfield mix need to be tweaked to take us to being a consistent Preliminary Finalist level.

Needs to be a contested possession beast to make up for his lack of spread. Unfortunately it's dropped right off this season

Dont have a problem if Tunstall gets picked this week. His selection had absolutely nothing to do with last weeks loss. Shouldnt be dropping a kid after one game and a loss like that.

Dont have a problem if Tunstall gets picked this week. His selection had absolutely nothing to do with last weeks loss. Shouldnt be dropping a kid after one game and a loss like that.

He was absolutely slaughtered by Jordon last week. Will be ok in another 12 months but is clearly not physically ready yet. There are several players who I think are more entitled to be playing in the seniors. It’s not like he has been tearing it up in the twos from what I have seen. Picking players on ‘hope’ or possible future upside would be pretty destructive to the attitude of the playing group I would suspect. If you are not promoted based on form then why bother busting your gut week after week.

Lyons is not the reason we lost matches.
I think with Neale and Lyons we need contrast for the other Mid.
Rayner worked well here and there.. Not sure Zorko or Clugga the contrast we need.
We need either a bigger player who runs both ways or someone with a lot of speed who runs both ways.

Lyons does a lot of under work that I think people miss.. Yes he not super fast.
Although I do not think if we could magically replace him this week with those people talked about Hooper,Davies-Uniacke, Dunkley or Taranto
We instantly be a better team..
Do not think he done and dusted.

If picking Tunstall this week is pretty destructive to the attitude of the playing group then we are way too soft to be winning anything.

No single player was the reason we lost last week but Tunstill isn't near being physically ready in my view.

Likewise JL's lack of output is hurting us but we probably don't have anyone to replace him who would do much better.

I did not advocate playing a C Grade amateur. So I am not sure what your point is.

i'd like to see Rhys get a game but wouldnt all emergenicies comprise the 26 and as Rhys and Terry and Fullarton have if I remember correctly been named emergency at least half a dozen times this year so he'd have been in those final training sessions a few teams then wouldnt he?

In fairness to Jarryd he has been fantastic for us for a number of years and won a number of Ashcroft medals and been highly placed in our B&F. He is clearly underperforming at present but that doesn't undo the work he has done up until now...

I think it was a very poor selection for that game when you look at the alternatives.

Said so at the time . Nothing that happened made me think that was wrong.

But he might develop into a good player given time.

Picking on future upside rather than on form is the problem imo. He is nowhere near ready from where I was sitting. Let’s hope they don’t expect him to play on McRae this week or his confidence will be shot for a long time.

Agree people in power would never get together behind closed doors and plan the best way to keep it and then push the envelope if they deem it necessary to maintain said power, governments are altruistic and have the best interests of their constituents at heart, election cycles and maintaining power don't even enter their mind.

We all know politicians, honesty and integrity are synonymous with each other.
