Picking on future upside rather than on form is the problem imo. He is nowhere near ready from where I was sitting. Let’s hope they don’t expect him to play on McRae this week or his confidence will be shot for a long time.
Likewise. I thought he was nowhere near ready and a bit lost. To his credit he tried.

Surprised others saw it differently.

In fairness to Jarryd he has been fantastic for us for a number of years and won a number of Ashcroft medals and been highly placed in our B&F. He is clearly underperforming at present but that doesn't undo the work he has done up until now...
yes and I like Matho although Lyons a lot better kick then him.
Even VFL level Rhys can just throw it on the boot even when he has time. He really is playing to help the young kids and break glass if Neale/Lyon injured. Same as Froggy.
I do not disagree Lyons is down on form although some of our forwards we run on the ball like Bailey, Linc have less output.

I agree the midfield needs a shake up.. Not sure Zorko or Clugga the answer.. Rather Clugga on a wing where he has space to be more outside.
Rather Zorko back now again.. Think we need him to help kick us out of D50.
Not sure why J Berry not at least getting a go in the mid.. Rayner been good and bad.
Although Lyons seems the current player everyone doubling down on.

Agree people in power would never get together behind closed doors and plan the best way to keep it and then push the envelope if they deem it necessary to maintain said power, governments are altruistic and have the best interests of their constituents at heart, election cycles and maintaining power don't even enter their mind.

We all know politicians, honesty and integrity are synonymous with each other.
Pfft. Lovely sarcasm. But it misses two key things:

1. Politicians love two things: themselves and ass-covering. So why would you be involved in a cover-up that can only hurt you and not benefit you? Especially when QHealth staff are already involved, not politically aligned, and get more funding if there's, y'know, pandemics...
2. Why would anyone bother covering up the numbers anyway? There is no motive for anyone to do so.

It's much more likely that there simply is no conspiracy. I don't think the numbers are right- as a previous poster said, no one really reports their positives anymore. I have 7 or 8 family members have had covid, and I don't know any that have reported it. They did the right thing and isolated, sure, but there's no urgency in doing the notification.

I was merely replying to a post from briz(who is somewhat of an insider in QLD Health) that suggested that could/would happen re QLD Health and numbers.

If my nearly 63 years on this planet has taught me anything it is that politicians of all persuasions lie and spin, I gave up on them decades ago.

I think all briztoon meant was that actual cases in the community will always be more than reported cases. Just because not everyone is getting tested at the moment.

IIRC he mentioned staffing and patient levels in hospitals.

I will leave it there, whenever I start talking politics I get banned/threatened with suspension for wrong think.... team out in an hour.:D:brisbane:

I think you mean Robbo not young Dev Robertson, who like Tom Berry struggles to get consecutive games and is often played in a different position. Agree with you that the step up is significant and playing mid in VFL is different to small forward in AFL
Yep robbo

Like last week, we have a distinct competitive advantage with English out, I hope Fagan has learned from last week and includes Fort in the side so we can work over whoever they have in the ruck.

I don’t think I’m emotionally prepared for another COVID wave tbh.
Take a deep breath Brab: unfortunately the latest omicron sub-variant BA.5, is a doozy. It will be the dominant one very soon and its antigen has many more mutations than previous variants. Conclusive data not in yet, but early indications are that it may be evading antibodies to a much greater extent than other variants. Which will probably greatly reduce the efficacy of existing vaccines. I very much hope I’m wrong but a temporary imposition of mandatory mask wearing should be a no-brainer. 86 people died of covid yesterday in Australia. It’s still about 2000 per week in the Empire of Chaos where you can’t get an abortion but an eighteen year old can buy a machine gun. Strap yourself in.

Well done on missing the point, but that's ok. :D

People have just stopped listening to this type of stuff.

We haven't honored 2s form strictly to be honest. Matho would've played by now otherwise. Fagan and Match Committee prefers to pick based on certain criterias. Fagan has got us from utter garbage to where we are today so he has that freedom to run with it.

But we've now baselined ourselves to a new level as a repeat finals team so supporters are expecting the next level up and all decisions get scrutinized deeply these days. Fagan is running out of those petrol tickets, fast.
