Their mids usually have a day out against us and we just allow Neale to run around getting 470 odd touches. Add in Dunks who is in red form and this is 100% where the game will be won or lost.

That said, our midfield is a completely different beast now, finally with our own clearance beasts playing elite footy.

Really the game against Brisbane is a free hit. Only the true biased tiger fans would think we will win. Should be a good game, playing our best I would not be in a rush to mark any game as a loss.
Won't stop the gameday Melt.gif

Last time was Gibcus and Tarrant. This time Grimes and young
Tarrant played on daniher in the final and daniher kicked 3. As did hipwood on Balta. Broad has played on hipwood before. Cameron kicked 3 too
Young is playing okay.
At the other end of the ground we had Lynch and JR who kicked 3 each.
Pickett did actually run with Neale for a while in that game.
A fit Dusty and Hopper are plusses.

A tough assignment
+Taranto.

I think if fit Samson definitely plays unless it's wet. We look better with the extra tall up front rather than using Pickett in the role. I'd use Pickett as more of a pressure forward, probably in place of MJ/Clarke.

Will probably have to have Cotch/Prestia spend more time forward too so we can fit Hopper in. Not ideal, but they will all play.

In: Hopper Pickett
Out: M.Rioli Ralphsmith
Sub: Clarke

farrk we should be in 5th spot right now on 34 points those umpire assisted wins to pears and dogs have crueled us. in both games the oppo were given the softest of frees that werent there to win the game in the dying minutes

add the druggies Richmond killing Richmond game and we are in the top 4 without big sexy and injuries all
year

the big sexy comment always makes me think of this scene from Pineapple Express.

Can’t see us losing with the way we setup against the Saints. Lions BL can’t cope with pressure so win it in the middle and lock it in our FL and if not then give them dirty entries into their FL with lots of pressure and force. I really can’t wait driving back home on the Minibus.

Tazz is back in training

Not worried about the bears, its the umpires that worry me, and what bullshit interpretation they bring that no one knows about until they've kicked 4 for the bears
I usually hate the umpiring whenever we play Brisbane there. Remember when we conceded NINE 50-metre penalties in the space of 6 quarters? I don’t remember the year, but it was one of the years we played them in the QF (I think it was 2020). Also in the 2021 Gabba game when they bloody had 20 free kicks to our 6 at half time.

As bad as the umpiring can get in other matchups and grounds, Brisbane in Brisbane’s the worst of them all in my opinion.

Hipwood has turned himself into a pretty dangerous forward recently too, and Daniher is usually a safe bet for 2-3. Charlie Cameron used to have nightmares about Grimes but that was a few years ago and Grimes has certainly lost a yard of pace since then so thats a worry too. Zac Bailey, possibly Zorko coming back.

They're a talented, high scoring side. It's going to be tough restricting them at the Gabba and it might become a shoot-out again. Without Lynch we still might lack a bit of punch.

Winning the midfield battle is more crucial than ever in this game.

Yeah I agree. I think we are capable of making it a good game to watch but Lynch is the bloke who gets us the goals that make winning possible.

Lynch could have gotten us over the line against Melbourne, Bulldogs and most definitely Essendon.

To often our forward entries break down because blokes don't have that big target and are trying under pressure to figure out other targets.

Spot on, Also with the Melbourne game even if Nank played we would have beat them. Ahh well a win vs Brisbane makes up for it.

I agree with the umpires bit

We need to be a 4 goal better side at least to win.

I honestly believe our team runs out onto the field knowing full well that is the case in all games and that must be taxing.
