Abbey Holmes needed the producers to cut the fake cheering crowd sound. They needed to show the audience what the emotions were actually like out there on the field. The players were all probably as flat as a tack in the silence. The fake crowd applause was probably deceptive to the home audience. She was probably channeling their emotions, in all fairness. She's hardly going to go up with all smiles to a teary eye glazed Melbourne player.

Jeka is such a good user, already elite in this category, times when he had no right to get the hands off he did it with ease

I thought he got out played on some
Occasions but was more to do with not understanding the players kicking to him and vice versa the players kicking to him not understanding he was looking to get separation laterally - give him more time and he will come alive

Lewis was impressive, wasn't he. Kicked a goal I thought he usually misses and took some decent grabs. Made position well. Good on him.

Maybe Kozi has knocked some sense into by A/ Showing that he's no longer our best forward option and B/ Knocking him in the head.

Yeah, BTW, what happened with the Kosi knocks out Lewis issue/drama - according to our great 'AFL media' the paddy wagon was on it's way to Waverly to pick up Clarko and a few other coaches who allowed this to happen...?

Easily the least effective Gawn has been against us. Reeves in particular gave him stiff competition especially with ball ups.

Noodle really gave him some trouble. He owned him in that very last contest before the final siren too. Good signs

Frost and Hartigan are not going to be world beaters but they are all heart. Personified the way we played today. Aggressive and desperate.

They both try their guts out and we have no alternatives at this point, but for the team to take the next step we need their replacements to emerge sooner rather than later.

They both cost us a lot of goals despite all the good efforts they put it.

I like frost to, but his turnovers that cost us goals will mean he won’t be a key in defence when we are back up, unless he can tidy that up I see him as the 7/8 best defender in the years to come

Massive!

Big ups to the defensive unit tonight. So undermanned but got the job done. Burgoyne with 10 tackles. TOB got the job done. I like him in defense.

Midfield seemed hungry. We have got the names to get it done, we just need them to do it regularly. Gawn didnt have the influence around the ground that he usually does. Reeves seemed to go ok.
