Autopsy Round 18: Adelaide Vs St Kilda

He has an endurance tank but he's so slow it's hard to fathom and especially if he has to chase.

Maybe all the injuries have taken their toll?

But maybe with a good run at it, with some continuity, and with some specialist training over summer, he can improve on his current pace.

Seems a funny thing to say at 25 years of age, but maybe the Hunter we’re seeing at the moment is not the finished product

Wouldn't mind shifting Owens to the wing and just giving him the green light to roam around wherever he wants
Adelaide's underwater football adventure aside, wing is one position where we might have something going already.

Might as well try Owens there, but we'd be losing some sorely needed production by having him take that role from someone else.

lol the Adelaide board are really in la la land. How’s this for drawing a massively long bow

“I thought he didn't like Lyon because he felt like he wasn't given opportunities in the midfield when he felt he deserved it, then after signing an extension he got dropped for like 4 weeks, which makes it look like he was being given games and once he trapped himself at the club Lyon took the opportunity to teach him who's boss which only added to Phillipou's pissed-off-ness. Rumor is he's told them he's leaving at the end of his current contract no matter what, he's encouraged the club to trade him this offseason because he'll walk wherever, go into the draft etc, doesn't care, and so the club potentially loses him for nothing, so if they want to get something better do it while he's contracted, but he wont be remaining with St Kilda (after current contract).”

Absolutely ****ing delusional

The delusion is strong over there.

in the 2020 final he was top 3 for us.
Honestly reckon he'll be shipped off if anyone shows any interest this off season.

Doesn't seem like a player Ross would love at all (can't spread to save himself - hello Luke Ball)

And would just be getting games at the moment because we have no other options AND to try and showcase him to any other teams that might have interest

People re going apesh*t about a couple of Bonner's clangers, but strangely quiet about Clark's turnovers. We need a better midfield anyway.
Because Bonner's primary role is to deliver the ball and he can't even show competency in that

Clark's role is to win contested ball and clearances and he did that great on the weekend. If he used the ball well then his face would be on every Saints socials post atm

Very big difference

Clark is an inside mid that will always draw more pressure when trying to release. Bonner is an outside runner that generally has more time. Probably more pressure on Saturday because of the wet weather but that’s how I see it.

I like Bonner but he was absolutely terrible the other night. Clark was getting the ball but his ball use was terrible. Adelaide looked so much better in the wet with their superior midfield. Wet weather footy is made for inside contested mids.
