I think you might be over rating Stewart the midfielder a bit, I hope he plays there, as a defender he is a gun, he's not a better mid then any of our starting midfield and I don't think we will tag him after not tagging any of the gun mids all year

Hawks fans were saying the same thing going into playing us.

That their midfield would dominate us.
Stewart dominated them on the weekend, was easily BOG. Had big impact week before playing midfield against Dons too.

Can’t imagine Stewart not playing back considering both our KPF and Cox are out. With only reef… and Krueger he will more than likely have a day out (unfortunately)

I'm not saying he's no good at all, we haven't bothered tagging Merrett twice, Bont etc, don't think we will start tagging now just because Stewart is in the midfield

You guys are awesome. Will probably be the flag favourites after tomorrow night.

Nah don’t go that far, we are happy to be where we are but we’ve had a good run with injuries this year compared to the absolute shitshow last year and have a good run in the back half of the year with the schedule.

Still think it’s Sydney/Carlton/Brisbane right now.
Their profiles match with what the last 10 Premiers have done statistically.

Have you got his footy card yet or are you still looking?

Bro, your midfield is a shit show. Carlton made you look like amateurs. Do you think the rest of the comp is going to let Stewart have his way. You were lucky you played hawthorn, who was due a bad game, and at home.

Yep, hence why I said we are happy to be where we are.
Plenty of time to go yet before Finals

Just correcting this. Geelong has requested to have every home game played in Geelong since at least 2017 but the AFL has not agreed to that. We make significantly more money from a sell out at Kardinia Park than a big crowd at the MCG.
It’s your illogical requests for a home final that grates. When Geelong becomes another Australian state you’ll have a point.
Until then please just desist with such absurdity.

My prediction:

In: reef. Elliott. Noble
Out: Howe. Dean
Emg; fin. Sullivan. Johnson

Long into the 22
One of HH or Richards sub or Markov if you want to move one of the smalls up on the wing

That's what I think too. Markov as sub & move Richards to the wing. Billy can go mid for a bit/JDG can go forward for a bit. Long into the 22. Wilba needs to stay forward. Maybe Long & WHE take care of Stewart wherever he goes.

I’ve had it straight from the horses mouth that they’re very happy to play their home game against the Pies at the G despite whatever spiel they try to sell supporters. Anyone who thinks a packed Kardinia Park with a significant proportion of patrons members whose money you’ve already got generates more revenue than a packed MCG is just delusional.

3 key talls out and replaced by 3 smalls. Genius.

Lucky it’s our home game this Friday.

Who’s left that can play? Johnson perhaps. Eyre isn’t. Ain’t nobody left. No club can cover two KPF and their Ruck/forward all being injured. Howe out obviously makes it even worse and poor Elliot first game in like 2 months. Dare say can’t expect to much from him

They seemed pretty happy playing the Bombers at the G for one of their home matches.

Last year, Joel Selwood spoke about how the players always enjoyed playing big games/finals at the G. Something he was more than willing to admit after he retired ..

Reef replaces checkers
Noble replaces Dean, who was the one that came in for him last week, and we don't need 3 talls given Geelong have 2 real main talls.
Elliott replaces one of the smalls or markov who one of them will be sub

Was more a comment on dropping Dean

The danger for us is Stewart waltzing in on his own as a free man picking off the high balls and kicks close to forward 50 metre line
That’s what he’s good at and that’s what we should plan to stop

Of course you do.
When the State Government gift you hundreds of millions to build your stadium, and you don’t have any expenses or depreciation to write off, a dollar in revenue is a dollar profit for you…
If you had to fund the works yourself, you would be worse off playing at Kidding Park than Etihad under the old deal that clubs had there..
