Interesting reading the Cats preview thread. A few don't seem to rate Henry too highly. 'Selfish' 'Liability' 'Prefer he doesn't play at all, let alone as the sub'

I'd be surprised if he isn't selected for a game against his old side.
They have a dilemma....they have a plethora of forwards, and Henry/Rohan are very similar. If they play both, they have to omit one of their small forwards. Their new mature recruit, Mannagh played well and is unlikely to make way for Henry (who was sub last game).
i dont think he will be selected...or maybe solely as a furphy to make us think he will be playing.

Awww poor things. What a dilemma to have.

Greedy fkers didn't need Henry after all.

Just saw a stat. Since 2004 Geelong v Collingwood results are 18 to 15 their way but as the Geelong poster added-that must be the worst win loss ratio the Cats have against any club during that period of enormous success.
Buckley was one of few coaches to have a positive win/loss against Chris Scott

Remember last year Round 1 when they were 16.3 and a goal up at 3/4 time.

And then the second time we played them we were about 4 goals up at 3/4 time and they just started pressing really hard at the end including a goal from the carpark!

Who knows what this one will throw up.

Should be a good game.
Just want to see us bring the heat.
We have nothing to lose.

Will throw up a massive victory by our team.
Have a good feeling.
Think we have lots of pieces of the jigsaw back, and we are well aware of the granite like mentality of this team.

Exactly. And that is the context where our team will just go for broke. Attack will be the priority. Chaos, motion, ...that's when we connect best.
Hopefully.
We are a fair way off our best and they are in form.
Think we can win but will need everything to go right.

I get why everyone thinks that way

Footy has been that way for a long time. "This is the way it's done so anything outside of that is weird"

I just reckon the comp is prime for a team to come along and actually use the sub to their advantage in a real way. It's been that way in soccer for a long time where clubs actually back their system in and often use stars as the sub to get over the line, turn a match around or even put the foot to the throat

Given the way we also have so many good players carrying niggles, it's also a way to manage some of those players through

Again, I mentioned earlier that this is all under the guise of taking the club's (Fly's) words at face value that "it's not about the magnets" and that we back in our system.

Working under the assumption that that's not all just a bunch of front facing media fluff, I reckon using a gun player as the sub could be something we could try to maybe move ahead of the pack and give us a point of difference.
It could extend Sidey’s career.

The last 3 weeks have resembled the first 3 rounds of the season albeit we just got over the line against North.

Sure injuries have played there part and will be a valid reason if we can't win the flag.

Injuries however didn't stop us from going 7-2-1 prior to the Kangaroos clash.

It's our hunger and work rate that's once again fallen away and it's that which will ultimately decide our fate this season.

If the Collingwood of the last 2 years is still in there somewhere then we'll get a response this Friday night.

Fight!

They choose who they play at their home ground???? Yet another example of AFL favouritism!!

Like every team, they make requests for the draw. They request their home game against us (if there’s 1 in the draw) be scheduled at the G. Same as Carlton and Essendon. Nothing to do with favoritism, everything to do with filling their coffers.

Not really. No Howe,Checkers, Cox, Mcreery, Mitchell, Mcstay- a lot of pieces still missing. Quaynor has been worried by a toe injury and Markov battling a back problem.

Time will tell but these outs hurt.
