I wouldn't be surprised if deBoer is out for Ballas. I'd have a weird confused look on my face though.

It's funny how the game works though; Morabito came on as sub against GWS and got 15 touches, then had no impact the next week and has been called to be dropped. De Boer did exactly the same and we're not sure how he'll go on Thursday... although perhaps their playing situations are slightly different.

Fyfe was also asked how he would feel if he topped the Brownlow Medal count later this year as an ineligible player, but the superstar midfielder remained diplomatic.
"It is what it is,” he said.
“The incident happened way back in round two.
“There are other prizes I’ve got on my mind.”

I dont think he is referring to the doig or AFLCA etc...

:)

Everyone's favourite ranga on 6pr brad hardie reckons Sylvia is not an out this week. Will stir the cat amongst the pigeons on here if true!
Wouldn't really surprise me TBH. He's been doing the defensive forward role that MdB usually does. Low stats are par for the course.

Do you really think Sutty will be omitted or is that just what you would do?
Don't know, I was looking at who should come out for ibbo and he was the only one that maybe under pressure playing a similar role, he prob needs a rocket as I reckon he has dropped a bit of form overall this year

I think it's a mirage that Sutcliffe has dropped form, he works and runs harder than he did last year for sure. The problem I believe is that in order to generate more scoring opportunities we've dropped our overall defensive pressure, sort of like bending more but not breaking whereas last year we didn't bend so much in the middle of the ground.
I've yet to see a game in 2014 that showcases our pressure (esp. forward) like it was at certain times last year.

If there are five or six changes, there will be a shock or two with players being dropped. Griff, Tabs, Sylvia and possibly Mora are expected outs but who else? Sutty? Suban?

I don't think there is the slightest chance of him being dropped as I see him as one of our best and most consistent this year.
Ross could see it differently I suppose. We will find out soon enough!

I have a pretty different perception. I thought he's improved his one-on-one defensive ability, and become more physical as well. On a number of occasions in the Saints game he got himself to dangerous areas in front of their goals and got a hand on the ball to rush it through or knock it away from them, or to shepherd his man away from the ball to allow MJ or Spurr to tidy it up. Defensively he's been very good.

The run is still there, and his ball use was a little patchy a couple of months ago... but he's fixed that up from what I've seen in recent weeks, and is back to using it well. With the abhorrent running display we put on against the Saints, it's a reminder of how important it is to have a guy running his guts out to provide a target through the midfield. Guys like Sutty and Mz serve important roles, especially with Hilly out.

I think he's improved from last year, and has improved in recent weeks. Hard to see him as an out. I'd be shocked to be honest.

My guesses:
- Griff for Sandi (obvious)
- Tabs for Balla (seemingly obvious)
- Mora for Hill (Mora needs more time in the WAFL to build his fitness)
- Sylvia for Ibbo (if Ibbo is fit)

MDB into the 21. If Ibbo comes in, then Neale as the sub. If Sylvia stays then he'll be the sub.

They aren't cheap, this one is $37.75, and that is just the head.

I suppose we all see things differently..

IMO Sutty has improved leaps and bounds this year. Skill level, work under pressure, physicality have all improved. Definitely best 21.

I dont think sutcliffe will be dropped, this understanding isnt based on science, output, statistics, etc but apparently he has breakfast at RTBs house before every home game.

RTB doesnt seem like a person that would invite just anyone into his home (i.e. could not imagine Keplar Bradley, T-Train or Barlow getting an invite), so he must really hold Suttcliffe in a fairly high regard.

He has begun to show a bit of dash out of the backline, plays his role. Rarely has goals kicked on him. Hard to see why he would be dropped (he had a stinker last week but who didn't). He would be part of the clubs plans long term considering he has only just turned 22. Can't see him being dropped any time soon.
