I’m on the Carter bandwagon as well. Upgraded from rookie list one week then named emergency this week. Get him in for a Debut.

Is SHill any chance? Rosco indicates in his presser that Lobb tweaked his shoulder but hoped he would be ok. If Lobb is ok I’d play Sandi ahead of Darcy. Sandi has a great record under the roof at Docklands. Darcy was awfully slow as a fwd.

A spell (to Peel) for Tucker might on the cards. That moment in the middle of the ground where he thought he was in a different time warp stationary - caught holding the ball. Tucker was on another planet tonight.

Would be great if Langdon could take more care with his kicking.

Potential outs:
Hughes, Tucker pretty average games.
McCarthy was quiet, but I like him in the team and he still our no.3 goalkicker despite mssing quite some games.
One ruck, nobody really had a bad game, but I'd say we miss bit of run. Could be Lobb anyway, when injured. Otherwise a difficult call.

Potential ins:
Fyfe when fit.
Banfield and Crowden probably our best in the second for some weeks.
Perhaps Nyhuis to play on a small.

I would have played Carter back in the Melbourne game; Hughes was pretty good in terms of effort but I would role in Carter to see what he can do off half back in terms of bringing his speed and probably superior kicking.

I would also look at Crowden in place of Tucker, who did not have enough disposals for mine and was mainly wasteful with what he did have.

Obviously Fyfe back if available; I would change for McCarthy and play him forward more and continue to back in Brayshaw and Blakely in the midfield.

Wow Hughes is totally the current escape Goat. He had a good game.
Its a weird paradox, people want players who are influential yet when Hughes takes the most marks and is involved in a lot of crucial 50/50 balls people call for his head and other players by virtue of the fact they were virtually unsighted survive the call for culling.

Darcy was better than Sandi on almost every stat last night, so I don’t understand the bold call above. I thought Darcy was ok, so too Sandi?

No point taking the most marks when you make the worst decisions straight after.

If the umpires payed holding the ball correctly he’d probably have cost us the game too.

And if the umpires had paid the blatant high tackle on Walters the Hughes call wouldn't have mattered.

Switkowski can't keep going, 14 games for four shots on goal and six goal assists as a small forward is pretty stunning. Although his pressure is fantastic, he just can't generate anything.

Schultz probably replaces him, although I don't think he's quick enough.... but I would like to see Carter given a forward line defensive role, he is super quick and couldn't possibly do worse than Switkowski's production.

If Lobb is out, I'd like to see Fyfe play most of his minutes forward. You can see how important it was with Lobb, Darcy & Sandilands making deep forward 50 contests were. McCarthy can not provide that, at least Cox could bring it to ground in a reasonably dangerous area.

I have a feeling Lobb will miss a week.

McCarthy survives because we need him structurally, he's also forced into playing the main forward role again which he sucks at.

Out: Lobb and Switowski (he's had enough chances to impact the score board).

It protects Fyfe, and the way he marks the ball and goes for it, he plays as tall as Lobb. Not sure why we don’t do this often. Defenders aren’t sure how to man up on him at times.

Because ross is a fool. Fyfe is a natural forward. I still think there are times where our mids stand back & just fyfe watch. Imo we would have lost last night with fyfe in the middle.
Put him in the forward line.
