Should I trade Nic Nat or Nicholls? Got 3 trades and 27k cash Don't need to trade, but I don't have fwd emg this week. There's not really any ruck options and I don't want to close ruck/fwd link either.
Any ideas? - Mids + Def are fine, plenty of depth their in emg too.

I have 4 trades, $12,800, top spot in my league on equal points, better %, playing number 2 and would ideally like to keep top spot. He's projected at 2448, me 2407. I know I can just take a loss but then first final i'll play 3rd place who beats me every time we play and loves to sledge me about it!

Any ideas guys?

I looked at Nicholls -> Goldy, Vlastuin -> Oxley (by moving Staker to back line)... Gets me to 2465 projected but no FWD backup, 2 trades left and ~$100k.

Maybe you can go

Nicholls > Cheapest ruck possible (+300k)​

then

Crouch > Forward (placing neade on your mid beanch)​

You can then use Cox as your ruckman through McBean and Neade in your mid bench will enable you to play someone like Rockliff in your mids should you ever need to.

Hartigan is still only named on extended bench, but would be good for $$ grab, if him not potentially playing wasn't a big issue, have Clisby as D7,

other options could be;

Colqhuon (141k, def/mid) - has DPP, might play more games(?)
Prudden (109k, def/mid) - has DPP, cheaper, probably won't play(?)

If you had one these guys for DPP, you could switch them to mids bench if/when you trade Kmart & Arnot (out for season) for Premo Defender,

then you have DPP option with Goddard, Heppell & Gibbs to be able to cover mids,

Whoah, I thought you meant "don't need to trade" as in your position in the finals is set.

Different ball game if you MUST win. Prefer to see whole team before I give my expert opinion. Context of must win would also be helpful.

I think you'd get more bang for your buck with another forward. I got on the delicious train. Will be a nice POD I think. However, in your case - S.J. is one of those gun players that anyone decent has so I think if pass on him it will hurt you in the finals.

Depends what you want. Looking at your inconstant (as in highs and lows) forward line I'd go for Bartel averaging 105 you know what you will get each week. I have them both though.

I am thinking about trading out nicholls to Grundy to give me around $350,000 cash to use with my last two trades later down the track.

Or do i hang onto my trade?

I'm coming 5000ish so no chance but i would be nice to crack the top 4000.

Thoughts?

no trades required. your rise in the rankings will come in the last 3 weeks when teams with no trades die in the arse, use emergency loopholes where you can. good solid team

Thanks mate. Was always the wise decision and you've just justified it! Don't think i can loophole any emergencies as all my bench are playing apart from rucks

Having Nic Nat there was another reason for trading in Grundy

Any danger of Bartel being rested in the run up to the finals? He's probably my first choice for his consistency as you've mentioned but just worried about Geelong resting their stars.

Doubt it, he had a rest last week and the bye. He's averaged 21 games in the last 6 years.
