Man i am Henry's biggest critic on here but he went ok i thought. Walters must be dropped.
Well I concede it can come down to him OR sonny (small forwards/midfielder) based on form. I think Sonny was better in that game than Henry.

Walters is a concern BUT I'm happy to give him a chance due to his years of service. (Cronulla Sharks NRL tragic as well)

I hate seeing players decline in footy no matter the footy code. It sucks.

I'm not saying Walters is on the down but he needs to destroy a team. I sincerely hope he wrecks St Kilda next week.

The sooner we get Darcy back the better.

Call me one eyed - On the plus side we look like a trimmed up deadly contender due to our drafting and contract management.

I don't care if we win by a point. We just need to make winning a culture.

Our backline was way too cumbersome today. More i think about we must drop one or move one to the fwd line. Walker off half back in tandem with Clark.
It looked cumbersome because guys weren't using their bodies to check runs, and other guys were ball watching. We have plenty of toe down there, just poor defensive technique on multiple occasions today, and some bewildering umpiring

I'm afraid those days are long gone, the only team Walters will be destroying this year will be Perth if he plays WAFL.

We just have to temper our expectations with him and realise that he's going to be a handy contributor at best now.

In: Darcy/Amiss, Fyfe
Out: Lobb, Walters

This the type of win that, if handled right, can actually galvanise the side for the year ahead. You don't do that by swinging the axe completely.

But I think they have to send Sonny a message that going missing in that regard is simply not acceptable.

Out: Meek, Walters and Banfield

In: Darcy, Fyfe and Erasmus

FB: Ryan Pearce Logue
HB: Young Cox Chapman
C: Clark Fyfe Acres
HF: Erasmus Lobb Frederick
FF: Schultz Treacy Switkowski

R: Darcy Brodie Brayshaw

I: Mundy Tucker Serong Henry

- Need a decent amount of forward minutes from players like Mundy, Serong, Erasmus and Fyfe to hide our inside heavy midfield. Also helps they offer more than our actual 'forwards' e.g Walters and Banfield.

- Clark isn't a defender, please just put him on a wing already.

- Henry. Feel we just need to back him in.

Willing to give a few guys a bit more time. We know what Walters used to be able to offer and I’d give him more than one week to show he’s back. Henry and Frederick certainly weren’t great today either but I’m certainly willing to give two talented players more time. Tucker was never going to be at his best today with no match practice in the pre season.

In terms of today’s performance I’m not sure some of my below changes are fair but on team balance I think it’s necessary:

Out: Brodie In: Fyfe
Brodie played well today but i thought we were a bit slow today. Not sure Fyfe, Mundy and Brodie all belong in the same midfield. Who’s missing from the three is obvious.

Out: Meek In: Darcy
Again not fair on the player being dropped but Darcy>Meek all day.

Out: Banfield In: ???
This spot goes to Taberner if fit. Balance of the team wise we probably need a taller medium forward if Taberner isn’t playing. Sturt and Erasmus are options. Otherwise we accept we’re a touch short and just play Colyer who’s a far superior footballer.
No way known Brodie is dropped after that game. There’s a queue of 5 or 6 ahead of him and if anything we’re still thin on the inside.

One of the reasons I want to swap pretty much anyone out for Erasmus is the guy is a competitive nutjob and it's something I think we need. I want him pulling the team along with Brayshaw and Serong. The kid is a big game and moment player

Clark won't get dropped but there were a few minutes of softness. If it was Wilson there would be calls for his head. Chapman great spoil although lucky no Adelaide smalls were in the vicinity . Not great before that.
Walters had a poor game , Henry just ok .
Minimal changes imo , if Fyfe and Darcy are fit Meek and Banfield out.

Banfield, Henry and Walters should all go out for him.

I think there will very few changes for next. Maybe if one or more of Darcy, Fyfe fit to to play.

I really think we need to inject some class into the forward line asap. Erasmus should be fast tracked imo.

Sorry I just dont see it with Treacy at present. I think he has a future but at the moment he just cannot get into games.

You’re probably right.

Ultimately we probably won’t know whether Fyfe, Mundy and Brodie can play in the same side until they do. I still think Brodie has a big future at the club even if it’s after Mundy retires.

Really bizarre that Clark isn’t on a wing, especially since Walker can defend and attack.
Same with why won’t they throw Cox forward or ruck?
Rochele trading the house down, same reports on Erasmus.
midfield lacks depth, so what’s plan B?
Lobb goes into the ruck and we are left with Treacy forward.
Bars set pretty low ATM. Unless we have zero injuries, good luck with that.

Midfield is shallow, time to start developing our draftees.
I'm less convinced it is shallow.

Henry is being gifted games to speed his development, but if we play Aish we will have more depth. Fyfe in for Banfield. Colyer or Crowden for Walters.

if those changes were made we have the midfield depth and improve production.

I'm not obsessed with draftees needing to be in the 22 to be developing, but I had expected Erasmus would debut within the first 5 rounds.

What is Sturt's situation? Need someone who knows where the goals are.

Assuming none of our injuries are fit next week either:

Out: Henry, Banfield
In: Colyer, Sturt

It’s the forwards where the problem is. The forward line is bottom 4 standard. Can anyone seriously argue otherwise?
Logue single-handedly kept us in the game today in Q3. Pretty much everyone else went missing. None of the forwards apart from Schultz played well. None of them.
Jye amiss has got to come into this side very quickly. He needs to play 10 or 15 games this season as we are at nothing long term with this batch of forwards as a unit.
