Can Shoey take a mark?

Yes, though rarely in packs or contested situations.
He doesn't tend to drop the sitters though.
Nash never looked like it in my eyes and I thought the ball hit him in the hands a couple times where he had a better than fair chance to clunk it....

Still, I'd take Mitchell Lewis over the both of them if I could make it happen.:(

You know when it comes to finals clarko chooses blokes that have more games experience particularly abit of finals experience

I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record here but clarko will replace like for like in terms of role play and experience towards finals not bashing on Nash or pitto but you have to crawl before you walk at hawthorn

Nash 1 game no final v Roughead 250+ 20+ finals
Pitto 3 games 0 final v McEvoy 200+ 10+ finals

Calls for Roughead/Birchall to retire and dropping schoes? BT: oh boy wowee glad clarko is picking the side.

Been called up for less than that in the past but I think Clarko has finally seen the light and given up on him.
No coincidence that our form has improved greatly since he was dropped.

Think gave him plenty of opportunities until our season became more of a priority.

Schoey was a disgrace on the weekend.

But hey, if he's a good luck charm, let him do **** all up forward and get us the W

I think that's harsh dude he had no Roughy a 1st gamer in Nash, ceglar had to play virtually fwd instead of traditional ruck and Gunston was in defence 40% of time (was in defence on the 1st qtr) did you see someone post a comment stating in the last goal we kicked shoes was in the d50 and was one of the guys who sprinted down with Morrison and O'Meara to help pup to create that clutch goal? Yeah he's doing f all, yet Busted his gut to create the contest

Don’t agree. He presents in contests and was also involved in a number of goal assists, including the Worpel/Selwood contest that resulted in a goal. He’s no game breaker but does his part. It’s no coincidence that our forward structure suddenly became more functional since he returned to the side.

Schoey plays 6 games and we score over 100 in 5 of those games.

5 of 6 is not coincidence. Must be doing something right....
More importantly we're 6 from 6 with him in the team this year, it's also no surprise his return last year post bye was also when Hawthorn started playing good football only losing 3 of the last 10 games.

In the last two years we're 12-4-1 with him in the team compared to 11-14 when he's not.

Ceglar was great against Geelong and took some great marks. Deserves to keep his spot.

Schoe is underrated in tackles and CAN take a mark and kick a goal. He also plays very well as a high half forward so believe rotating Ceglar and McEvoy in the ruck will trouble sides.

Worpel should never be dropped again.

Impey, Burton and Morrison have suddenly gone to another level so obviously they stay in the side.

Birchall should play a couple of games at Box Hill first and see where he's at after so much time out of the game; but if he is fit and ready then he has to play in the finals with his finals experience, run and intercepting marks.

Nash a great long term prospect but sadly will make way for someone for this year's finals but has had a taste and he shows that he has the goods I think.

That means Sicily, McEvoy, Roughead and possibly Birchall in for?

Pittonet, Brand, Nash and Miles

although perhaps also Howe in for Miles as is a good tagger? Tough one though because I really like Miles...and if Birchall is not ready then perhaps Nash stays.... Getting hard to pick the best 22...Rioli would be handy also...

Want what we think is our best 22 to play this week.

If available...
In: Mcevoy, Birchall, Roughead.
Out: Pittonet, Nash, Schoe

FB: Hardwick, Frawley, Stratton
HB: Miles, Brand, Burton
C: Smith, Mitchell, Shiels
HF: Gunston, Roughead, Impey
FF: Breust, Ceglar, Puopolo
Foll: McEvoy, JOM, Burgoyne.
Int: Morrison, Worpul, Henderson, Birchall

Agree with a slight change
I would drop Hendo and give Nash another week before the finals.

Funny how Schoey was involved in giving off the goal assist in the two best plays of the game.

Meh, guess he must just be really lucky.

True.

Shoey was also really lucky in the 2015 GF. He managed to play like a B+/A-grade CHF with elite kicking skills. Talk about luck.

He is also lucky the way he sometimes looks like he knows what he is doing, despite injury and a limited crack at it over an extended period for a good while.

It's more indicative of his true talent, that he's managed to get injured so often.

It's also just luck that he straightens us up so well, and that he takes pressure off the better forwards. He got lucky with this in 2015 during finals, and it's happening again now.

Whenever he does anything good, it's certainly not because he's talented. Like that year he got lucky and had started to become a really good defender, then did his knee.

Shoe is just the AFL's luckiest player. I'm betting his luck continues, and he stays in the side from here till whenever the year ends - even if it's in a winning team on GF day.

He is just so lucky.
