Just watching replay after working all day.

Good win, locking in finals, probably kills their finals which is disappointing as I kinda like them, don’t tell Simo, but hopefully they get the win next week.

A much more, consistent?, game from us.
Don’t have the lows of the past weeks but I guess didn’t haven’t the highs either.

Very tired so will have to watch tomorrow to give the points.

As an aside good to see the crowd increase and building.
It is getting much louder and more passionate at the Stadium too this year which has been great.

The following options are now possible for us in FW1:
  • Finish 4th and play Sydney in Sydney.
  • Finish 2nd and play Port or Geelong at Giants Stadium.
  • Finish 3rd and play Port in Adelaide or Geelong in Geelong.
Given Geelong’s weaker percentage, their chances of finishing second are now very low, so a match somewhere in Sydney or Adelaide looks most likely.

I reckon Port fall to Freo with Treacy back …. 2nd is a real chance

There was real outrage at some of the umpiring, especially when it was right under our noses.

Our core supporters can match those of any other club.

Yep.

It's like a rocket gets lit up under the crowd when the crowd perceives unjust decisions (or so many non-calls!!) towards our team.

Gets very loud, very quickly.

It was interesting after we gave the umps a spray or two that they suddenly saw a few holding the ball calls in the 2nd half.

The replay showed this was a high quality game and the pressure was applied by both sides.
I agree with the poster that mentioned that Freo were big bodies and that was a strength of theirs.
They aren't that slow, but our guys are just that bit faster and that caused Freo a lot of issues as we could break their disciplined defence. We could have won this by 4 goals if we were a fraction sharper, but I think the final score reflected that we played a very good team. Imagine if we had Michael Fredericks...

Also after his 6 goals in that game, Jesse Hogan has equalled Jeremy Cameron at 67 for the most goals kicked by a Giants player in a season.

Will be very likely to break that record next week. What an amazing season he's put together this year.

Didn't Cogs miss the 2019 GF through injury? Gutted if it were to happen again. But we can't carry passengers through finals.
He had 24 disposals and 6 tackles.
Quite a few clearances and was about the 7th highest rated player on the field.
He wasn't his best. But hardly a passenger.

Stormy must be close to an AA jacket now
Nope
It doesn't work that way
They have to be talking about a non-vic for at least 2 or 3 years before they can name him AA.

It's the "If-he-played-for-a-Victorian-club..." hurdle

What he is close to is being named in the 40, which is the first step.

but he's not beating out Bont or Petracca for the small forward role this year - not that either of them play there, but this is the AA where Pavlich is a fullback

Daniels is without doubt the most crucial player to our ball movement..Whenever we aren't scoring or struggling to move the ball it's usually when he isn't involved. He even said this in his post game interview haha...

Difference to few years ago is now he is also kicking crucial goals as well l.He was kicking lots of points years ago except that goal where he sprung out of nowhere and kicked that amazing running banana to win that final against Brisbane in 2019
