Did we lose a defender this week?
Maybe saw Worner and just decided Hamling is necessary, lack of run be damned.

Bodes well for Hamling getting one more year and the club making me and others look dumb

He rotates through there when Jacko rucks

Jacko Young Brayshaw. Is that sacrilege?
I think they can all get close to equal minutes in there anyway if managed correctly. Jackson and Youny in there really unlocks a lot of things if it comes off. Size suddenly isn’t as much an issue and you can go with Jackson, Young and Switta on occasion.

We’ve seemingly successfully got Young on ball, let’s see if Mid/Ruck works for Jacko. Nothing to lose

Yes, most can play more than one e position so we could have quality rotations. Switta would work well in with Jacko and Young. Just need to try and get Serong to play successfully elsewhere. If Fyfe goes midfield next year it will be even more important for our mids to play a second position. Fyfe and Serong inside mid at the same time would be a defensive nightmare unless Serong goes back to the receiver role he sometimes played last year.

If there was ever a game to really see how this would look:

Ryan Pearce Wagner
Clark Hamling Young
Henry Serong Aish
Walters Cox Sturt
Schultz Amiss Treacy

Reidy(Darcy) Jackson Brayshaw

It would be this one...
Aish would have to play back (bench), you'd think, otherwise we'd be going in with 6 defenders, assuming Johnno and Erasmus are in the 22 and Worner is sub.

TEAM v HAWTHORN
IN:
Michael Walters, Joel Hamling
OUT: Jaeger O’Meara, Bailey Banfield

As expected. Reidy just travelling for the experience from the looks of it...unless Jai's not 100% to get over the cork by Saturday of course.

Good selection changes, Hamling has actually been pretty decent when he's played this season, happy to have him play his potentially last game for the club.

With those selections Cox will definitely play forward. It's been obvious we have needed another competitive marking target down the wings and in the forward 50. Unfortunately JL too slow and conservative to make the call earlier in the year.
