Round 3: Changes Vs St Kilda

I'd only drop Darcy if he is injured. He's a young ruck and hasn't often been beaten. Need to give him a chance to respond.

He gets flogged around the ground every time he plays, and he isn't doing Sandilands type things in the middle to make up for it. We'd be better off playing no genuine ruck at all (as some teams do).

I think he has promise but at the moment he's not fit enough and too slow for AFL.

Out: Banfield and Hughes
In: Switta and Duman

Darcy won the hit outs and he needs more games. At home next week he will dominate with Lobb.

Langdon got 26 disposals and cannot be dropped. Tabs was solid.

Fyfe and BHill were amazing. Colyer tried hard. Poorest game I have seen from David Mundy for many a long year. And Pearce and Hughes made a lot of mistakes. Hogan was ok in his first game - didn't mind him in the middle.

No need for panic stations yet but I thought we really lacked a bit of drive from the middle. We rebounded poorly and our shape look substandard.

Need to beat the Saints big time.
I don’t care if you get 40. But honestly, the way Langdon used it was poor. Long loopy kick.. to Brayshaw. Need more accountability. He won’t be drop though.
Banfield was awful. Again, high half forward is the dearth of some players. Worst one to have for Freo. How many have we played there over the years that have really struggled
I feel Banfield should be in the midfield and not Brayshaw. He gives us drive and hardness. Just goes at it. Brayshaw need cover and protection, he’s not yet 20 FFS.
Give North, Bewley a chance. It’s all about development

What a horrific day.
We were outcoached, outhustled and outplayed.
Darcy was smashed in the ruck and around the ground. He clearly wasn’t fully fit.
As a result we go with Tabs and Lobb in the ruck. It did feel like we were too top heavy and light in the midfield.

Out : Darcy, Schultz, Hughes.

In : North, Giro, Matera.

We need more speed and spread to be able to expose the Saints.

Either way, I broke my golden rule and need to punish myself again as a result because our schizophrenic team and inept and incapable coaches tease us and let us down every single time we get some hope.

Rule # 1. Never, ever, ever, ever bet on Freo!

Out: Darcy, Schultz(those dribble kicks were shite), Hughes(did some good things..but not up to it)

In: Switta, Matera and dunman

brayshaw, Cerra, banfield should all be on notice. Lobb to a lesser extent.

I’m a massive Brayshaw fan, but he did have his worst game in purple tonight. Pretty sure it was a one off though given the body of evidence previously on display.

Darcy shared the hit outs tonight with a ruckman who normally comes out on top in that department. He is weak around the ground at this point though.

Didn’t think Conca was bad at all.

Fully get the comments re Hughes - his place is awaiting Logue’s return to fitness.

Wilson looks like someone not fully giving everything he has. We need more desperation from him.

Switta in for Schultz.

How many games have Hogan, Mcarthy, Lobb and Tabs played together and we expect them to all perfectly gel
This one was loss in the middle. Martin destroyed our whole midfield. The way we used it going forward, was worst then reserves level stuff. Clueless and hopeful.

For all the problems we have and there’s quite a few of them...

Darcy was up against one of the best rucks in the league today. Witts is underrated - third best ruck in the league imo. Darcy is up against Rowan Marshall (yea who) next week.

Our forward line needs a lot of work still. We have the talls now and Walters is a gun but our small forwards are otherwise not good enough at this stage. Not sure who we can bring in though other than an underdone Switkowski. Matera is just putrid - modern day small forwards can’t get away with no defensive pressure or marking ability.

We again are short a mid or two. Maybe North comes into the frame but we all know it’ll be Giro or Crowden. In fairness to Giro he would’ve earned it.

Why the hate on Hughes? He was the best of the defensive lot. Used it better then Wilson. Shouldn’t have been moved from Sexton.

Actually, instead of Duman. Why not Nyhuis? We need a specialist small defender. Each team has those small forwards waiting for the crumbs, hanging off the back of packs

Out: Schultz, Darcy, Banfield
In: Giro, Swits, Valente

Ryan Pearce Hamling
Hughes Wilson Colyer
Hill Fyfe Langdon
Dardy Hogan Cerra
Walters Tabs Swits
Mundy Lobb Brayshaw

Giro, Valente, Conca, Tucker

Whatever changes we make it's probably not going to make a lot of difference. We are a completely different looking team on the road. Watch us step it up against the Saints, then be semi competitive against WC before being absolutely trash and get spanked by GWS away.

Young teams struggle away but that was next level difference between last week and this. Think we need to rethink our "away" regime.

Calmed down after melting earlier, gotta realise that it's just a game but still expect results from this club. I don't think Hughes needs to be dropped but unfortunately it seems that Schultz ran out of steam today and made some silly mistakes. Give the kid some time in the WAFL to rebuild some form then bring him back. If Switta is fit we bring him in.

IN: Switkowski
OUT: Schultz

Am I alone in thinking Cerra has been the biggest disappointment so far?

Really hoping he was going to step up. If he's going to be playing half back he should be playing at Peel instead.

He made some ordinary second attempts and decisions today.

I was really disappointed with how he, Brayshaw and the rest of the midfield fell apart against very average opposition.

A devastating no performance against a team picked not to win a game next season.

The Saints will roll us next week and then the season is going to turn into a ****ing nightmare as the draw gets a LOT harder.

Schultz is not a pressure small forward, if Switta is fit he must play
Hughes is Jeckyll and Hyde ,Good, bad,Good bad.. Today more bad than good.
Nyhuis deserves a go.
Darcy isn't fit but who replaces him, Jones or does Lobb ruck.
