Trades Round 3 trade plans

With Covid / H&S protocols hanging over the season, I’m surprised people are using 3 trades, particularly to turf players like Gawn and Steele, who you’ll need to get back in at some point.

People are saying that cash gen is an issue but I really don’t see it. Plenty of decent (and commonly owned) mid pricers and rookies.

I reckon those extra trades are going to be needed to get 22 on the park each week.

Tempted to join the bandwagon to get Cripps and Hewett. And Brayshaw going great. But it means trading 2 of Daniel, Whitfield and Steele. They weren’t terrific in the first two rounds, but I think I will stick with them for now. Didn’t trade after week 1, and might not after Week 2. Never done that before.
Disturbing signs for you

I’m not trading Berry (yet), but in paying close attention to him I’ve realised he’s a bit mediocre.

Just no real standout traits, not much physical presence despite being 6’2 and 90kgs.

I do think that playing as a defensive mid could really help his game eg Jack Steele and allow him to learn to hunt the ball by paying attention to what his opponents are doing around the stoppages.

Also means more CBA’s which will hopefully result in lots of tackles and a boost in clearance numbers.
Yep not sure how you come out of this mess
Worrying signs for you

Posted my team the other day and I’m still likely to not trade. I can’t get Cripps, which is annoying but one idea I have had is

Owens and Whitfield to Luke McDonald and Bowey.

I already have Hewett but I wouldn’t be surprised if McDonald is a keeper either. North fans what do you think?
I think you're in a lot of strife actually
Perhaps just enjoy the moment while you can

As an eagles fan I know that all too well haha.

What do you think xerri will average from here? I was hoping for 85 where I could have him as f7/r3 long-term.
80 i felt was optimistic pre season.
He should do that.
His JS is pretty good CCJ is a terrible ruck.
He went 98 vs Hickey in the preseason we have the swans next week so he may go well again.
But I would be very surprised if he was a keeper.

do the extra trades really help with covid? if Macrae and Grundy are out next week due to H&S protocols are you gonna trade them?
just build the best team you can as fast as you can and cross your fingers.

As much as I would like to bring in Cripps, just can't see a sensible way of doing it this week. So instead, looking at 2 trades

Trade 1 - Whitfield to Hewett. Debating between him and Bowey but I think Hewett is worth the extra and should be a more consistent scorer.

Trade 2 - Owens out. Undecided whether to go Stephens or Xerri (via Rachele). Xerri seems like a trap score wise but I could be convinced otherwise.

It helps itch the serial traders itch.

But otherwise, might just help people bring in a playing rookie to cover a star missing a week the with covid.

West Coast need the extra trades, not us supercoaches!

Any feedback on the below? It's been going around in my head all day haha

Whitefield to Bowey + Dixon to Will Brodie
or
Whitfield to Bowey + Hough to Luke McDonald

cant go wrong with either. youd bring in mcdonald if you see him being a keeper eventually. otherwise brodie i think is the better stepping stone.

Have watched him closely, and I think he's just finding touch after a highly interrupted 2021. Check out his stats 2018-2020 and consider how young he was. He's getting more of look-in in the midfield than he was then, so the big scores will come IMO.
