Has to be a positive sign that they are fine with Menzel backing up after only a 6 day break in a non important game.

AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
He wasn't great last Sunday but I am glad he got a 2nd chance. Hawks did so with Sicily, if he's poor on Saturday then magoos for him.
I reckon they will go back to Murdoch off HB with Ruggles in the pocket, leaving Guthrie to spend more time in the guts.Interesting with Enright out.
Now Guthrie has to play back with ruggles.
I'm going to enjoy watching that.
Murdoch and Cockatoo are, let's face it, extremely lucky to be playing. But in terms of the result it makes no difference and they will be hoping to run them both into some form.
Looks like there'll be some rotation of the tall backs and small forwards which is fine by me.
You see, the difference with Sicily and Cockatoo is that Sicily spent a copious amount of time performing in the VFL to earn his spot in the AFL side. Cockatoo just gets in because he was a high draft pick, regardless of how poorly he performs or how well other players are playing in the seconds. He's not being forced to earn his spot, which is a poor attitude to cultivate in young players. There can be some leeway given to developing players for some off games, but he shouldn't have been brought straight into the side until he had picked up touch in the VFL.
The result where we win by between ten and fifteen goals, regardless of which fringe players they choose. What result? The game hasn't been played. Taking out-of-form players into a game on the basis that the side will win easily anyway is laying the foundations for an upset.
It's not even the game day thread. Don't go getting negative yet. What result? The game hasn't been played. Taking out-of-form players into a game on the basis that the side will win easily anyway is laying the foundations for an upset.
That's not it at all.
Sicily HAD to play VFL because the AFL team was winning flags and dominating.
He was fringe for a long time and has now been given a chance due to injuries.
Cocky on the other hand needs to be fast tracked because the Cats want to build a list to win a flag. We don't have the luxury or players in the seniors to hold him out.

Resting Enright??
Thanks for losing me this weeks DreamTeam match Cats my backline is already under pressure and now I'm missing my top scoring defender
Who the hell are you watching?Yet there are multiple players playing in the VFL this week who have shown they're more deserving of a spot in the side than he is. It wouldn't hurt him or the side to go back to the VFL for a while to work on some aspects of his game and gain form. He has yet to prove he's good enough for AFL level football.
Agree with brining him back in the VFL but alas Cockatoo has played one match. I never like dropping players after a single game. You see, the difference with Sicily and Cockatoo is that Sicily spent a copious amount of time performing in the VFL to earn his spot in the AFL side. So you advocate the tried and often failed method of chopping and changing. He probably is lucky based off how he played on Sunday, I'd rather him in the side over Murdoch anyway. You see, the difference with Sicily and Cockatoo is that Sicily spent a copious amount of time performing in the VFL to earn his spot in the AFL side. This is why you avoid old players in fantasy.
These are pretty good changes for a rare change. Quite happy with the selections. Cockys first half against the pies in the nab showed the talent he is capable off. Would much rather they persist with that and give him a few goes first rather than good vfl players who don't have any X factor and highly unlikely to make it.Yet there are multiple players playing in the VFL this week who have shown they're more deserving of a spot in the side than he is. Don't worry, next he'll advocate a fast wing type player in Murdoch/NC5 should make way for treacle slow George.Who the hell are you watching?
He is clearly, clearly, good enough.
Whether he is contributing enough to the team is a different question.
Some guys need to be fast tracked. I would have dropped him.
But if they want to carry him in an easy game then so be it.
Run a sub 3 second 20 metre sprint... but seriously I don't think 30 disposals against a bunch of talented 17 year olds would boost his chances for selection. That kind of performance is what would be expected from a guy like him against that level of competition.Horlin-Smith must be wondering what more he has to do to get a game.
