Where the hell did you come from 13000 posts and this is the first time I've see you here?
Former names include Demoncat and probably the one you'll recognise... cats2rise

I truly hope Murdoch is never seen anywhere near the back half. He's dead set putrid when spooked by opposing forwards.
Get him inside forward fifty and stay there.

Get Darcy Lang to start rotating through midfield and pushing back because he can at least apply tackles all the while using the ball a lot better than Murdoch as his disposal efficiency rating is better by 10%. Just a pure footballer in comparison to a bloke who only knows how to get the ball and run really fast.
I'd really like to see Lang rotated back as well. He is one of the best kicks at the club and he would be involved in the game a lot more.
We need to move the ball far quicker and smarter out of defence and having excellent field kick back there couldn't hurt.
Let Murdoch fight it out with McCarthy,Gregson, Menzel for a spot.

Run a sub 3 second 20 metre sprint... but seriously I don't think 30 disposals against a bunch of talented 17 year olds would boost his chances for selection. That kind of performance is what would be expected from a guy like him against that level of competition.

And his other good 2nds practice match was against a very weak Nth Ballarat.
He can only play against the opposition presented, but good form against weak opposition in a 2nds practice match and in a 2nds v 3rds level practice match doesn't exactly constitute knocking the door down.

McCarthy bags 2 goals as a small forward last week, and is probably our 2nd highest goal scorer this year with 5 goals from 3 games? Why dropped!? I think he offers more than Gregson at the moment.

Although they play different roles, I'd say he's knocked a fair bit louder than Cockatoo

So if he plays well it's what is expected. Does that mean no one gets promoted then, because playing well at VFL is expected?

Looking forward to Murdoch and Cockatoo's combined 12 touches and 0 tackles this week.

McCarthy out for Murdoch is stupidly typical of us. Essendon or not all three of Murdoch, Cockatoo and Kiersten in the side is too many players likely to zero impact as opposed to McCarthy and even GHS who get amongst it far more.

####ing tired of our 'hoping' selection strategy.

Disappointed to see Linc dropped. We've been crying out for a small quick forward for ages. Hoped the powers that be had shown more perseverance.

About as dropped as Gregson was last week. I expect he will get the week off football altogether and then come in next week like Cory has. They be rotating on the sly.

That's true, but the different roles is pretty crucial.

Maybe, but I find it difficult to believe our midfield structure is that rigid that a position couldn't be found for him. After all we play a 4 tall defence at times and I dare say when Vardy is fit he'll come in to play along side Smith and Stanley, so there are other areas in the team where we appear to be prepared to experiment.

I like George but I'm not sure that Nakia and Murdoch are in direct competition for a place in the team.

and you factor in McCarthy's history worth soft tissue injuries, it's always a gamble playing in these rather meaningless games.
He alone won't be making that much of a difference as it will come down to our midfielders getting the ball to our forwards more so than McCarthy making the most of his limited opportunities.

Having said that, I'd be guttered to see him playing in the magoo's tomorrow night.
We did this with Vardy and he picked up a short term injury.

Your first line is a lovely strawman and the second is just silly
