Tough one. I agree Chandler is a good chance to hit 350k, but the issue with Grundy is that he's likely to need another trade in 3-4 weeks. He could just about match English in that timeframe with Melbourne's draw, but I suppose it's whether or not you have the capacity to use that extra trade.

With Rowston/Chandler, would you be fielding them? Because that's also a consideration.

On the flip side, Rowston's role looks good with Perryman out of the team.

And fully agree re midpricers. No more haha
Chandler F6
Rowston/Hollands/Baker M8 (can use Constable or maybe Chesser to loop)

It's Gawns return vs English inevitable injury. Both probably will need to be traded out.

If you're convinced re English getting injured (which is more than fair), then maybe go the Dees boys. You'll get a good cash injection and likely decent scores from Chandler for a few weeks, and Grundy should get himself to a position where you can turn him into Gawn in 4-6 weeks. A Grundy 130+ vs West Coast could be a handy POD

To say ‘Bevo style’ might be a little unfair on Mitchell, given WB are meant to be contending and Hawthorn are pretty far from that. But your general point is fair. Anytime winning isn’t the primary concern for a team, experimenting and exposing guys to different roles is easier to sell. I’d imagine they’ll be some of that at hawthorn, though typically it’s the young fellas who benefit rather than sacrifice. They clearly like Day, and even if he does play some different roles at times, he is actually capable of scoring ok elsewhere
Yep more the general premise of uncertain role.

The issue with Day is it's a messy price, you need him to be a keeper at 400K+ or it's an extra trade which would normally only occur after low scoring and price drops. If the current role was secure sign me up but as you say the team is experimenting and with that comes role changes.

If it pays off it's great but prob too much uncertainty for me given he's not secure as either a cash grab or a top 6 defender

This week probably Cameron to Witts and Callaghan to phillips.
I'd be careful with Phillips. LDU and Simpkin back this week, and potentially Wardlaw in the next week or two. Don't think he's in Clarko's preferred 22

My team have decided to stop chasing the sexy trendy favour of the week mid-pricers. We will go back to basics and focus on cash gen and conserving trades for upgrade season. No more trading for the sake of it. No more sideways trading uninjured premo's. We keep getting those trades wrong anyway, so time to stop doing them.

Need to replace DC this week so thinking DC/Callaghan to either

English/Witts and Rowston
Or
Grundy and Chandler

What do you think? Dee's have a good run so I think Chandler can still make another $150k.
I already have Chandler and also considering DC to Grundy as my only trade....

Chandler scored 90 points off only 9 touches. I didn't watch the game but would think that would be a bit concerning for consistent scoring. I already have him but not sure if it's worth getting after already having an $80k price rise, reckon there's a bad score that's gonna come.

Could do Witts instead of English.

Or just grab Witts and put your mind at ease haha

How long is Gawn out for?
This shaping like a Geelong special where they list him as deceased on the injury list and he pops out of s wedding cake on the weekend, yells 'surprise' and pumps out 362 points?
Grundy for 3 wks seems not viable, 6-ish maybe.
No clue. Apparently he got interviewed and said he wants to return in 3 weeks, but doctors are saying 6 weeks. Never found the source.

Didn't see the game yesterday, but Choppers mentioned he didn't look great.

Could just go Grundy/Rowston and have $140k ITB for the first upgrade
I should clarify......not so much didn't look great but he was really struggling in the last qtr (exhaustion).......he doesn't get enough chop outs imo....82%TOG in 26C heat.......bit tough for a 30yo big bloke

Seems to have multiple ways to score though. Only kicked the one goal in round 1, but had 16 touches, eight marks and seven tackles.

Works really hard up the ground and is a beautiful kick going inside 50, which means he's rarely going to be parked in a forward pocket feeding off scraps.

There might be a lower score in there, but with Melbourne's upcoming draw, I'm pretty convinced he'll push the 350k mark.

I wasn't at all sold on him prior to the year, but he just plays like a seasoned pro. I rarely jump on rookies after the first big price rise, but I can certainly see the case in doing it for him.

What happened to Constable? Was at the F1 all weekend with barely enough reception to load the scores much less make a trade so I'll cop the donut but yeah bit annoying.
Think hes just a bad pick. Not best 22 with Powell and Weller returned. The hope was to get a price rise or 2 out of him but im not waiting as i dont think we'll see him again.

If the Dees continue to win with Grundy doing a good job in the ruck they shouldn't need to rush Gawn back and might be more conservative with him.

Even if Gawn comes back early in a few weeks time Grundy should have increased in price by enough to straight swap him to another premo ruck.

If I go ahead with my planned trades, I'll be running the following down back for a few weeks (until Sheezgull and Ziegull get DPP)

Wilmot, Cowan (Chesser, Constable)

Genuinely concerned Cowan gets dropped, and Chesser is injured, and Constable won't come back

I might not be able to do my planned trades :(
