Nah man go for Stewart.
LDU’s got a date with Ed Curnow this weekend.
Funny how when Stewart gets injured, people are like I'm never bringing him in again, then he returns and scores big and he's the number 1 target. Nothing has changed with him, he's still injury prone, and still capable of 180 like last year. I'm going with LDU only just over Sicily, who I much prefer over Stewart (and I need a defender more than a mid). Sic less explosive, but way more consistent and actually plays every week.

My reasoning for bringing in Chandler last week was for this exact reason. Now with Chesser out, I don't want to miss out on the next best available rookie.

With Rooy and Brock on the bubble next week, this week is Amartey at 223k and Phillips at 158k. Caminiti at 153k still presents good value and should see some good money to be made still.

If Amartey goes huge again (let's say anything 80+) will see him jump to around 290k. Then we will be comparing his MP value against the likes of Ziebell. Phillips I'm not so worried about. He is clearly not best 22. Amartey wasn't, but now he has to be.

Problem is, how to bring in a 223k cash cow.

Second thoughts. Chesser becomes the floating donut I always wanted Gillbee to be.

No way this actually sticks, but.

Is Buckley the goods? Even after a price rise?

I want to turf Callaghan, and get Buckley in via Kentstable dpp.
Didn't really pay much attention to him the one game I've seen GWS, but on the weekend he had just the 12 touches and 3 marks, which was good for a 53 DT score, but 99 SC. That doesn't seem that sustainable. I know he was much more involved the week before with 21 touches. No idea, but I prob wouldn't be surprised if he never scores another score above 90 the rest of the season.

I feel like Phillips is probably the play for Callaghan in a trade down if named, and just wait two more weeks to move Sheezel down back.

I’ve done 9 trades already… and, I’m not too sure if I’m happier with my current team or my starting team :drunk:

Last week, I’ve barely tread water - this week is sink or swim!

YOLO - don’t be shy to trade guys :D

If I go ahead with my planned trades, I'll be running the following down back for a few weeks (until Sheezgull and Ziegull get DPP)

Wilmot, Cowan (Chesser, Constable)

Genuinely concerned Cowan gets dropped, and Chesser is injured, and Constable won't come back

I might not be able to do my planned trades :(

I just realised after posting this that Buckley scored 99 SC points off 12 touches, 3 marks and 3 tackles.

Sam Docherty scored 87 SC points off 39 touches, 10 marks and a goal.

Work that one out.

256 people have spent $5k and a trade to turn Sam Docherty into Luke Ryan

Probably 32,000 by lockout

I think a lot would have liked him this week but chose to pass and made 150K with Daicos / Ziebell / Setters or similar and still see value in a 200K rookie averaging 82 with a 90 rolling through for the next few weeks
Daicos went up 44k
Ziebell went up 44k
Setters went up 58k
Chandler went up 83k

It pays do to the price rise calculations before trading. Chandler was the #1 priority. Could have got the rest this week and saved money.

Plenty of people had other things to prioritise last week and missed out on him for whatever reason.

It isn't as ideal as paying $123k, but he's in form and you'll still be using his cash generation somewhere down the line so who cares?

And I say this as somebody who brought in Dunkley with 3 rounds left in 2019 and didn't get Ziebell until after byes in 2021. We all suck in our own different ways.
The only person who went up more than Chandler (88k) was Sneeze (106k). Cash is king. Whatever people did last week could have been done this week instead.

Who would you trade in out of LDU and Stewart?

I was originally leaning towards Stewart but the more I think about it I am now considering LDU as the extra 50k will be handy.
Stewart is dead to me. Imagine doing that to owners in Round 1 and then it drops out of the 3 game rolling price so he’s at most 20k cheaper. Prick.

Exactly this, while yes the main goal is to maximise points scoring. Cash generation is just as important to afford to improve your team.

I figure the early rounds are about pumping as much value in and hoping that your premos can carry a few dud scores along the way and you dodge carnage. (I managed neither this season)

So I have gone down the maximum cash gen route and hoping it can launch me forward while others scrounge up funds and settle for their 2nd or 3rd option.

On the weekend my team value went up over $900k, and I'm sure others probably went up more. That is going to come in handy down the track and be more beneficial IMO rather than prioritising the hot flavour of the week.

That's not saying that the likes of Ziebell, Setterfield, Daicos were bad trades (far from it) but if you can build bank and not slip far off the mark on points, then it trumps those options. (easy to say in hindsight I know, but is common knowledge when making these decisions).

It sucks big time but he will always have to be considered given his huge output potential. We got stitched with him getting injured but it wasn't like he shot out an 18 in 3 & 1/2 quarters then got injured.

Filthy with the medical timeline though, that sucks!

Gave it a love for "reverse kanga".
If you're partial to reverse kanga action, I'll post a screenshot of my current side.
30 at one blow haha fmscl
Reminds Scooprsoy of the story involving his peer Michael Sheahan. The story persists that Chrissy Tarrant cost himself an AA berth one year by backing one out on the floor of Mick:s daughter's caravan. Apparently Mick's not a big fan of modern physical art and moved against the people's champ for dropping the kids off at the dry land pool that fateful night. ****ing Philistine.
