Was gonna give Young another week- but not really feeling confident… get the feeling he is a bust- without that late goal was looking at scoring a 50

I'm going to hold him. Didn't actually look too bad on Sunday just not finding the pill at will. Still uses it really well. He'll have a big game soon I reckon.

Ditching Cogs after 1 bad game? He'll bounce back and you'll regret it. Essendon this week.

Young I can kind of understand but scored an 85 so feels a bit unnecessary.

Good luck.
Ranked 57k haha having a shocking start gotta mix it up. Young was on track for about 60 before he kicked the goal and Cogs will lose money. I dont think Piggy will be any cheaper than 700k.

Absolutely agree.

I think most people trading in JZ and Setters were

1) Playing them on field
3) Expecting 95-105
3) Assumed Chandler would struggle to go over 70 vs Swans

Obviously knowing that Chandler would outscore both mid pricers everyone would have gone there as it changed the cash calculations significantly, Chandler at 65 vs Swans was expected to make 67K with JZ (100) making 55K and Setters (105) making 70K.

In hindsight Chandler was easily the correct pick but I understand based on cash projections + on field scoring why people went the other way
Setterfield was on track for a comfortable 100 despite a horror first quarter before the Saints killed the game in the 4th. I think he'll still work out as a great bridge but Shiel is playing real well and could eat into his CBAs.

Chandler still has value now, especially with Pickett slated for more mid minutes on his return. I was afraid of him having a 9 possession zero impact game which would have seen him get sub 50. He had 9 touches but booted 3 goals, 90 points for a 9 touch game is amazing value considering Jamarra also had 9 touches w/ 5 goals for 80.

Phlilipou to Rowston or Ridley to Day and Cameron to Nankervis seems like the smart moves, but it seems like I'm blowing 2 trades for no keepers.

Docherty to Day and Cameron to Witts seems like the stupid move, but at least I would have the best (or at least safest) ruck and I think Day is a keeper, even if it's as D7/M9 by the end of the year - and his role looks good enough that he could be my final upgrade.

Heck, if I really wanted to, I could trade Day back to Docherty in a few weeks time. They'll be around the same price anyway.

What to do with Cameron...

I'm jealous of your spare $50k. If I were you, I'd do Ridley to Day and Cameron to whichever ruck you want.

I have Ridley, but I don't think he's a keeper unfortunately. Don't think you'll lose much swapping him for Day.

Cameron to Sean Darcy
Callaghan to Will Phillips
Bruce to Chandler

Have definitely considered that as it's the only way I get to either English or Witts, but tried to avoid using another 2 trades guess I'll have to make do.

Madness, just trade DC to Grundy

Last week everyone had to have Worpel. Day will do the same to you.

I’ve agreed with your first part…

but hang on, Day is a keeper and if he tons up again, he’ll be a keeper for a few more weeks :p

Yeah, but unlike sexy premo Day, Worpel is shit.

I'd have to do 2 trades to get Grundy as well, unfortunately. If I'm going to use 2 trades to fix my ruck solution, I want the best ruck. No matter the cost and likelihood that I'll be looking for the 2024 planning thread this time next week.

Anyone keeping Callaghan? Why?
He's capable of scoring 80+

His DE is 68% and 69% in his last 2 games respectively.

He's usually a solid user by foot (down to 0.63 Kick to handball ratio in his last game, average is probably >1.0), and he's getting faded by his teammates from time to time. I'm backing him in to improve his DE.

Is LDU the real deal? Macrae worries me but I'm loathe to sideways trade a premo who can still go 110.

That said, he's M4 behind Laird, Oliver and Bont, and the extra cash allows Cameron to English. Don't know where but through Macrae to find it.

This is my team with those changes. Also would consider Macrae > J Kelly to fund the ruck change.
