Jack Hayes set shot routine and kicking action looks very tidy. I was interested to see that CD have him rated as the second best key forward after Joe Daniher.

CD also have listed Ben Long in career best form.
who is CD?

Higgins' ability to find the ball in dangerous spots is through the roof at the moment. 20 shots on goal from less than 13 quarters of footy. Plus four goal assists. If he keeps this up he's going to kick a lot of goals this year.
Yep, as much credit as he's getting, his season to date has still been way underrated. Looks likely to kick 3+ goals every time he plays, which would be some season for a small forward if he can keep it up.

I saw a stat I liked, and I'll probably butcher the exact wording, but I think it was rating "Team scores when targeted inside 50";

#1 Max King
#3 Jack Higgins
#10 Tim Membrey

Meaning when we target one of these three, things happen, even if they don't score it themselves. Having 3 of the top 10 is pretty impressive too.

Maybe I’m turning into a grumpy old man but can someone tell Mark “HOWIE” Howard we do not have any blokes on our team named “Windhagen” or “Couch”.

I cannot stand that ****ing pillock, ever since his segment interviewing Auskickers boundary side where he would smirk and make jokes going over their heads at their expense. Well done campaigner, you’re very clever, you sure showed that 7 year old.

‘Bad Couch’ reminds me of myself sitting down in front of the tv moving only to get a refill on food/drink

Just finished the replay. Just two players I want to mention this week - NWM and DMac.

NWM is all silk. He had something like 500 gained from 15 possessions! There were four I recall that broke the game open (I will mention Paton who cocked one of them up!). His impact is similar to Cyril's - he only needs it a handful of times. He is absolutely in our best 22, and there's like 10 blokes I'd drop before him.

DMac is all effort. In addition to all of his possessions, I feel like he had 4-6 tap ons that changed the direction of play. For some of them he was flat on the ground, for others he was flying in the air. He is becoming one of our most important players.

NWM and DMac are like chalk and cheese. Absolute opposites, but we need them both so much.

Dmac is definitely high work rate but his skills are very neat on top of that. Early on his possession was suffering from poor decision making under pressure more than technical deficiency. He doesn't waste much of the ball now and he's learnt to take players on and contests hard. He's become a real alpha type player in the last few years. It's a big transformation because he was a massive bed wetter once. Now he goes around to the opposition's houses and pisses in their beds.

I think there's a big area of improvement for NWM which is low hanging fruit and that is to demand the ball a bit more. Yes he gets himself into good positions, but he doesn't demand the ball. Understandably, I still think he feels chuffed every time the ball is passed to him. Once he starts getting 5 odd more possessions a game from the confidence he has in himself and the the confidence the team has in him, he's going to become even more valuable.

He's still getting ignored. I saw he was actually telling players where to stand and how to play during the game. He instructed Marshall to go up to the ruckman instead of standing the mark he was on (it was the right call). It's very assertive but perhaps they want to put him in his place a bit. Otherwise it could be that they don't want to burn him by putting him under pressure.

He looks like it's only a matter of time before he really takes charge in a game.

To be honest, he’s getting it a lot more than I thought he would. He’s doing everything better than I thought he would at this very early stage.

Higgins would be leading the Coleman if it wasn't for his head knock

He was our best player up until going off against the Tigers and would have had a field day against the Hawks

Looks an absolute star. Great skills & what’s really surprised me is his awareness. He has a sixth sense when someone’s around him to shimmy or quickly dispose of the ball. Very difficult player to catch holding the ball. He looks every bit of a top 3 draft pick even if he peaks as a low 20’s possession winger. We got a bargain.

Yeah, he's going really well at the moment. I thought he'd be a slow burn Allison type but he looks like he's owning his spot on merit not charity. We don't get many of those through the club. We are the slow burn kings usually.
