We still out played them. You obviously didnt watch the game if you keep refering to the 'scoreline'Well yes, you took your opportunities, they didn't.
Just look at the scoreline.
and you know what the scoreline says?? we won

Carlton have played this game perfectly. Well done to them. A big shame we ran out of talls (and legs).
However Carlton won't make it to the semi-finals not quite that level yet.
Loving the cheers for this bootsman? Dude. Who is he why he getting em?

Excuse me? Two seperate weeks two seperate games. I'm talking about one game on its own, nothing to do with this game, so learn your place before you start talking shit like this.
ffs the ignorance is just rediculous. If you cant see us as top 4 contenders just because we had a stubble in a game we won by 10 goals then you're blind.Like I said, in this thread, here, I really, really wouldnt talk about pressure.
All this game showed me about Carlton is they are first-class downhill skiiers - utterly capable of putting an exhausted side with injured talls to the sword.
But for three quarters, against a team that ran, tackled, harassed and competed, Carlton looked like a side in competition for a spot on the bottom half of the eight.
So we've gone backwards since last year?

Downhill skiers? Wouldn't downhill skiers have beaten you by 100+ points and bottled it against the likes of Freo and Collingwood?Like I said, in this thread, here, I really, really wouldnt talk about pressure.

Now GWS are out of tall bodies and are feeling the effects of a lack of rotations, Carlton are playing some excellent football.
Theres a lesson in this for all of us.

Oops sorry I literally meant preliminary finals. Isn't the AFL nomenclature for finals backwards? Shouldn't the semi-finals be the penultimate finals round?
Any no. Carlton have not gone backwards but maybe not forwards enough.
Im really enjoying this. Hope gws have as good second half
Hang on are you actually saying that 4 of the 5 teams that we played prior to GWS didn't tackle, harass or pressure us to the extent of the mighty giants? You should be a coach! Your side is not AFL standard, you were never going to beat us. Jog on Ian, come back when you have an understanding of the game.Like I said, in this thread, here, I really, really wouldnt talk about pressure.

I reckon there is an effort by ball winners to play for frees when scragged so opponents will think twice about contact. He was certainly being scragged, but the going to ground was ridiculous. To act like he had been smashed in the guts and stay on the ground was bewildering. It's hard to gauge force or whether he made contact on an out breath or something, but geez you'd go down a hundred times a game if that sends you down. Disappointing Murph.

Beaten a top 4 team, check. Second on the ladder, potentially 1st if NM win, check. What else do we have to do to gain a smidgen of respect from anyone?
Only beat GWS by ten goals though brah.
That makes us down-hill skiiers.
We're obviously the worst 5-1 side everOnly beat GWS by ten goals though brah.

This quote actually highlight how much you know about football. NothingIts not the margin - its when you got the margin.
If you'd have done what West Coast did, and come out and thumped us in the first quarter, then took the foot off the pedal, ok. Fair enough.
But what Carlton did was play soft, lazy, easy-option football for four quarters ... and in the fourth quarter, because we'd run out of talls and run out of legs, it worked.
Watch the tape of the first half, and then tell me with a straight face 'Carlton showed me they are a threat for the flag'.
