"Premiership player Matt De Boer"

Gotta be worth at least a 2nd rounder.
If he stayed in for the majority of the year or all of it, we'd probably get something in the mid thirties for him. If he's not getting games we might as well give him away.

The challenge is that the easily best performed player out of the 22 that played today is Gu and he is not a direct swap for either Pav or Sonny. Cannot see either being allowed to play.

Probably Mzungu and either Crozier or Hannath will play with a change in structure - could depend on the weather. I would lean to Crozier or even Sherro because Essendon are a very running side. Ballas was very poor today even when he got it in space once with a shepherd he fluffed a snap when he could have straightened up.

unless no injury, no change. ballantyne's forward pressure was fine. not great offensively. but no chance in hell of being dropped. a bit like Mayne last year. lots here wanted to drop him based on just goals. not going to happen

I would think Duffy is a more like for like replacement for Walters than Crozier is, and Duffy has also been cutting it up in the WAFL. Croz is more a half forward/outside mid than a genuine goalsneak, although he does have the goalkicking tricks. I would be happy to see either of them get a game though.

Replacing Pav would be a lot more difficult. The only KPP who is really going well at Peel is Alex Pearce, and he's not a forward.

There's probably something to that, but we're trying to win football games, not trade for draft picks.
No I realise that. Hence, while we're winning. He's absolutely not being picked to increase his trade value. It's just a bonus if he plays and then does end up being traded at seasons end.

Walters has been playing high HFF and has had stints in the middle. Crozier is a more fitting like for like, whilst Balla plays a genuine pocket role. Duffy is a more like for like for Balla.

Won't happen, but personally, I'd consider moving Neale to the forward pocket, bring Gu into the midfield and then bring in a Tall, most likely Hannath. Actually scratch that. After my buddies BOG performance, I think we should bring him in and let him tear Essington a new one! :p

Hurley played in the Peel reserves on Saturday so I don't think you have a chance in hell of a rookie getting a game just yet.

that's why I used the :p emotocon, Coulda! It was a tongue in cheek comment. :D

I was serious about Neale and Hannath coming in, though!

Neale has shown he's a pretty handy crumber. Like Walters he could also be played as a high HFF and put through the middle too (capt obvious I know considering he is a midfielder).

Think Pav and Walters out highly likely. Most clubs take a conservative approach on concussion (well Pav returned the next week once last year, but still think he will get a rest this time, no reason not to be conservative on current form of the whole team). So i'd say 2 changes will be enough for a winning team with no real passengers this week. In Mzungu (lock) and probably Crozier. Hannath being an option to keep tall structure (him playing well in WAFL and being named emercency makes me think he is close).

Geez everyone is harsh on Deboer. Thought he was instrumental in quite a few passages on play. 6 clangers and 5 FA's is really only 1 clanger. A free against counts towards the clanger tally.

Aside from some sloppy in the backs I thought he was quite good....1 or 2 goals too.

Disposal is still an issue but I tend to agree with you
