I did watch the game. We didnt score after half time. What's your point.

Also beating up on a bunch of kids in the first game of the season is nothing to hang your hat on and I wish people would stop going on about it. Post break Gold Coast is a lot different.
Why are they a lot different? Same players as before the break. They dominated in the pre season games. Seems the only down game was against us. Anything to do with their opposition?

Jonas really shouldn't be headbutting his shoulder like that...

Well played fellas. Let's not overreact, umpires are umpires and they make mistakes. Frees in the last were 8-1 in your favor, can't imagine there wouldn't be some on here pretty dirty had it been 1-8 and you had lost after the siren. Good luck for the remainder of the season, you have some serious players!

Well done Power people, we should have iced the game when we had the ball with 50 seconds to go, but if we had of it would have been a travesty as you were the better team. All this talk about who was the best player from the 2019 draft you would think Zak Butters name would have to enter it soon.
With all due respect, we should have iced the game kicking for goal with the four previous attempts.

Yeah we are rightly jumping up and down over Robbie Gray's great kick but Gray, Dixon and Marshall all had easy chances before that. We dominated the last ten minutes of that game and should have nailed it well before we did.

The idea that Carlton didn't have a huge umpire bias in this game is bizarre.

Even looking at the last quarter, Carlton's first goal came from Boak having a hand wrapped around his neck by Cripps and pulled to the ground off the ball. Not even going to get in to Jonas being smashed in the head for no free, or the Port 50 which somehow turned in to a Carlton free kick.

To think Port had an umpiring advantage is a whole nother level of delusional.

FOXTEL 's production of AFL Footy is absolute shit. Even if you wanted to listen to the crap commentators in yesterday's game you couldn't as the crowd effects often drowned out what they were saying.

FOXTEL's NRL production has it all over the AFL product. The commentators are not frightened to question the Ref's decisions and the use of crowd effects is absolutely brilliant.

As a follower of both codes I get the impression that NRL refs are held accountable by the commentators while in the AFL, incompetence such as we saw yesterday, is swept under the carpet.

It's hard not to believe in some kind of agreement between the broadcasters and the AFL in this regard. Not only are umpiring decisions (or more accurately non-decisions) never questioned, the commentary is many cases is nothing short of barracking. If one was into conspiracy theories it would be easy to deduce that there was a desired outcome at play. I suppose the broadcasters just want revenue, and that comes largely from their Victorian audience.

And despite that 8 - 1, we only just popped in front for the total.

A game is played in more than one quarter.
