Bringing De Boer back from out of the 25 to replace Hill in the selected team ahead of Sheridan doesn't make any sense to me.

So much for "playing your way in and playing your way out".
It happened to tendai last year, the being dropped reprieve. Or was it the year before? Anyway, hopefully it has the same effect on de boer.

Except Tendai was actually listed as an emergency in that game. De Boer was not even in the 25 that was published yesterday.

Not sure how I feel about De Boer being recalled. The message has been somewhat sent and he has an opportunity to show he can stop an underdone Hurn as he's done in the past.

In ideal circumstances we'd have Morabito and Sylvia fully available and ready to go so we have real competition for spots. Unfortunately that isn't the case ATM.

DeBoer may have torn it up on the track today too. We aren't aware of how that final session went (still waiting for assistant coach/media liaison officer Coulda to report). That may have helped him get back in too.

Certainly need him to get back to some form. He's never going to be an elite disposer finisher, but he can produce more output than he has.

Hill out sucks massively, because he could really hurt a side like West Coast who aren't the fastest through the middle to say the least.

With you on the under performing Clarke/Hannath situation. Hannath though need exposure more than anything. Clarke, given his experience in the biggs, should be doing better, no excuse IMHO.[/QUOTE]

Clarke should be better by now, he just seems to lack the ability to attack the packs, and the timing to take out stretched overhead marks. If we were winning I would be happy to give game time to Hannath, but this game is definitely not the game to getting game time into newbies. Tall players take a long time to develop, I understand that.

If DeBoar brings his tough bastard game, and maybe he should not even concern himself with suspension, just go out there and smash the packs get a high tackle count. I personally love the way he plays the game, unfortunately he does lack that polish, seems to spray shots at goals, and sometimes makes poor decisions. Hang on a minute that sounds like every bloke in our forward line at the moment.

Hill just might play his best footy against WC, ever since his derby debut I just recall him carving up their plodders time and time again. Still haven't had our best midfield out there since round 2.

Just on MDB - I find the argument about his tackling numbers almost superficial.
The reason being this is the assigned role of a defensive HFF.
For those that want to ignore his scoring deficiencies but talk about his defensive work, isn't it obvious that his defensive stats are going to reflect better than the rest of the team given he has instruction to be the first in for tackling, blocking, bodywork around packs....
It's fair to assume that's the instruction given to Matt, so with his licence to tackle and pressure of course those numbers will be high.

What we are yet to see is whether anyone else can replicate this in the defensive HFF role compared to MDB's output and whether they can achieve a output for scoring stats simultaneously.

I'm a borderline MDB follower - I'm more of the mindset we don't need his role at times given we already play 1 strict lockdown role in Crowley. With a defensive gameplan and a 2 strictly defensive players it leaves us, well, quite defensive.

You make a valid point, however if we were to judge the roll of other forwards, then they are clearly failing as well, especially when it comes down to putting the ball through those big poles. Ballantyne makes a huge difference to our forward line, and seems to create space and scoring opportunities. Also defensively we are a lot better with the high defensive players working together. Mayne will have a better game this week.

I got down to training late but just for you guys the mower man ,Yes the MOWER MAN said that Fyfe ,Ballas ,Mundy and Sandi where running through the drills and RTB was shouting from the middle FFS show me that you deserve a game .
Hill as everyone knows out ,D.Pearce was just running laps and Ballantyne was wrapped in cotton wool and limping .
Clarke was sent for an early shower and Kepler was doing match simms with Moller in the forward line .

No I'm not you're stalker. I don't have to stalk you to find out the stupid things you post on the internet.

So who replaces hills role as a run an carry? Danyle pearce usually runs off half back and gives the delivery and this is what hes best at. Can sheridan run and carry?

For ****'s sake. Wake up and see Hill is now out. The side can't take a trick. His pace is one area we could have looked to expose WC.
