Point of discussion:

Caminiti

He kicked a few goals which is more than lots can say but Jesus he had some stinkers efforts at the ball decision making ball use.

Rusty I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt but hardly the most convincing key forward option.
You'd probably cut him some slack as this is about his 6th game of footy and he's coming off a 3 week break. It's a big ask for him and Owens to compete week in week out with no cover. I think this game has highlighted that we still have a need for another key forward. Still a good effort to kick a couple of goals, give the kid time.

How many blokes 196cm can move like him? Upside is huge. Could be playing as well as Owens next year for his position imo

Prediction - future coleman medalist

Yes am happy to give him
Time. Just wanted to have the information here in the post game thread. Two goal turnaround when he missed the chance to pass but also missed his chance to go for goal.

Don’t want to pot him. Just needed to have that information here in the history books so people can’t only point to his 2.2 goal haul afterwards.

Good comeback but not a flawless game by any means.
Certainly not flawless. The mishap to Owens was laughable. However he’d be around player 19 or 20 on my shitlist today

Who of our non max king or windy reinforcements can actually make us noticeably better now instead of just slight improvements or side grades now?

Yikes back to reality with a thud. We’ve gotten worse each week since the Collingwood game. Old habits die hard and we are regressing big time. Sad part is it’s the senior core players. Bit that tells the picture doesn’t it. This sad fact is too many of these guys have spent the majority of their careers in a terrible no consequences cushy environment and when it gets hard they pack up and go home. Been happening for a decade. A sugar rush at the start of the year but think Ross will be analysing the list intently for the rest of the season and a big clear out is probably required. Leadership is still an issue, yea he’s had injuries but Steele has been disappointing for 18 months IMO, he’s part of the problem.

I like how half our defenders are apparently spuds and yet we still have the best defence in the league. Nothing like being reactionary

Should do another streak video of the 7 good defensive games we played.

sunny3193 will the tour continue?
Of course my fine Cursing fellow.
It continued in the tram back to Glenelg with the Boomer next to me, clutching a half empty can of Bundy & Coke, attempting to roll a smoke, breathing Bundy fumes in my direction, interspersed with his farts, then muttering rubbish to himself.
Fortunately he didn’t throw up.
It is this type of individual that give Boomers a bad name, and a perfect candidate for early euthanasia at age 21.

On a completely different issue, the tour rolls on to Port Augusta tomorrow.
I’m thinking of lunch in Snowtown.
Should I send pics?

I did say multiple times that maybe “senior players returning to the side from injury means we can only get better from here” was possibly a false assumption.

Maybe we peaked with our fill in team.

They were young or no names but they might have actually been better overall than now once we’ve got our usual “better players” back in.

Sometimes the injury list gives you false hope about how much stronger you’ll get.

That Saints supporter Tex Perkins sums up that performance.

Really deflating result, I wasn't expecting to win that game against the Crows in Adelaide but I was expecting a much better performance than that.

Normally with Ross Lyon coached sides you would expect to at least be in the game and competitive but we were nowhere near it today, not even close.

Not sure what has happened but that total buy in we had with our workrate and pressure in the earlier rounds just isn't there now, we only had some guys that were giving 100% effort with other guys that looked like they couldn't give a stuff and when that happens the whole system breaks down.

Ross needs to read the riot act to our players and get a response, if we play like we did today we won't beat GWS, a few changes might help too.

It might be OK to make no changes when you are winning but with a loss like that no one's spot should be safe, Membrey for King is an obvious change.

At last a sensible post. Too many babies being thrown out with the bath water in previous posts.

It's not hindsight but I thought we'd be lucky to get within 4 goals of them. More if we got jumped early, which we did.

No excuse for such a lame effort but the warning signs were there last week. I think a few on here need to lower their expectations about our real standing. I'd predict Adelaide will finish above us and we won't be the last team they towel up over there. They could've and probably should've beaten the Pies by 4 goals.

Again no excuse for our dismal performance today. It was a reality check that obviously some of the eternal optimists didn't see coming.

Jimmy in for Paton. Gives us an upgrade defensively and offensively. Better user, decision maker, and defender.
Is it a 10 goal difference or like a 5% upgrade?

I just don’t really think anyone not king can actually be a holy shit now we’re back change. Not a personnel or injury issue anymore. We did better with our cripple crew. Coaching needs to pull their ****ing head out of their arses

I still want to see Billings in the side. Given our sub seems to play half-forward every week I don't understand why he hasn't been given the opportunity.

Clearly not rated for one reason or another but he's on our list until 2025.

Missed the game with Mothers Day duties.
Doesn’t sound like I’ll bother with the replay judging from these comments.
Adelaide over there are always challenging encounters and unless teams can silent the crowd it makes it doubly tough.
Hopefully we aren’t running out of puff, there was alot of talk pre season about being the fittest team going around and I had concerns with if we could sustain the pressure from round 1 all year.
Hope Membrey is ok.

He on paper should be a huge upgrade but if he actually isn’t a game changing amount better than his incumbents then **** were in trouble. JB SHOULD be an instant upgrade by a meaningful amount on Byrnes or a first year philippou or bytel or even discount bin butler
