Oh....I took the blue tablets. Maybe too many? I had to shrink do I'd fit on that revoloving lazy Susan you make us pose on for photos.

Eh hemm - thanks for asking about my dress.
It's from Black Caviar's Dress Circle Awards Collection.
She's doing well post racing and embracing haute couture. How she plies that silver needle is a sight to behold!
Well the sparkles are blinding! Black Caviar's certainly a winner.

I'm more into Queen than Prince.

A bit like eating desert before the mains, here's a Queen goody.

S37 rookies truly are champions.

Did I miss the start of the event?

Sorry, the traffic was quite heavy :p

But to the unlucky rookies who missed out, don't despair, for there are still many opportunities to carve out your niche in this community and forge a sterling career in the Sweet FA, both on and off the qooty field.
Worth noting that this time last season big_icky was almost overlooked in the betting, but look at him now.

Strutting his stuff on the big stage and a good chance for a podium in the Beez.

Award Ceremony - Rank 10 to 12
Rising Star Banner.png

We will start with the 12th, 11th and 10th best players amongst our rookie cohort this season. This trio, through no fault of their own, spent the majority of the season lodged in pockets or on the bench, but still produced outstanding nomination-worthy performances in Season 37 and will hopefully kick on to forge a place in their respective teams' starting 18s.

12 Paracleet.png

Coming in at 12th is Warriors rookie Paracleet, a man of few words. Playing in a strong Warriors line-up, he spent a large chunk of the season on the bench but had a breakout performance when he defied team orders to swap with his captain Tonga Bob in the ruck in Round 7. He finished with an impressive 16 hitouts and 20 disposals on that day and his season averages were certainly nothing to scoff at for his first season in the league.

11 freo84.png

We got to see a glimpse of what freo84 is capable of in Round 1 on debut when he played one of the finest games of any half back in league history with 29 disposals, 16 marks and 138 Dream Team points. But the ineptitude of his captain Greenery meant he wasn't given many more opportunities to shine, and he spent half the season as an impact player off the bench. Hopefully we will see more of his brilliance with a more consistent run at things in Season 38.

10 Giant Strides.png

Sneaking into the top 10 is the Hawks' sole rookie, Giant Strides. It was always going to be difficult to lock down a good position in a massively overhauled East Side team so GS instead became a reliable and dour small defender, splitting their time between the back pocket and half back flank. They picked up a Rising Star nomination in Round 13 when they made a surprise switch into the forward line to try and sway the game and kicked 4 goals in the second half against the Furies. With more recruits pouring into the Eyrie, we hope GS can still be a solid contributor in Season 38.

Award Ceremony - Performance of the Year
It is a great honour to announce the winner of the Performance of the Year to -

Sometimes a special event happens where you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing when it happened. This season BFew delivered that moment with a game for the ages, taking the Grand Finalist OOB's to the cleaners. Although highlights of the occasion have suspiciously been wiped without a trace, (rumours are a 245kg behemoth was seen burning the tape) we still have the reverent stories from those at the ground that day. The most common comparison is this game from Chris Judd -

BFew now joins and illustrious qlub of players that have kicked 5+ goals and 30+ disposals. I suck at navigating the Sweet+ site so have referred to the inferior foopy comp for a list of players who include -

Leigh Matthews (11x), Kevin Bartlett (4x), Greg Williams (3x), Gary Ablett Snr (3x), Seven players who have done it twice (Gary Buckenara, Steve Johnson, Paul Hudson, Bernie Quinlan, Garry Wilson, Brian Royal and Wayne Richardson) and 18 players who done it once. That's it.

Congratulations on a performance for the ages BFew. You don't need to bow to no one. We bow to you.

You're one of the few captains who's made it to this event so that counts for something!
Ikr.... It's crazy how no other captain has showed up to this event with all these err... interesting looking rookies

Ahh shit I've just remembered I have to pick my uncle up from the airport
