Funny, now Josh is being toted for Kens job Kanes all "what about other coaches? What if Chris Scott is available?" Didn't seem bothered when Dimma or Clarkson were available?

I actually agree that we shouldn't necessarily harness ourselves to Carr, but my god that is rich coming from Kane.

Oh, and apparently Ports problem is the club listens to the supporters too much, and this potential coaching replacement is bring driven by that!

Objectively and demonstrably untrue.

Madness, what a muppet!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a sign of a healthy club the fact that the hierarchy listens to the wishes of its supporters?
  • Ken has previously stated that he doesn't like to listen to opinions outside the walls at Alberton
  • Koch reckons the fans are nothing more than white noise
  • And Kane says that the club listens to the supporters too much
It seems to me that the club isn't in a very healthy state, in that regard.

It reads to me that Kane has heard from Ken that the club is finally listening to it's supporters.

I wonder has changed at the club/board in recent months...

Makes me squirm every time I see "Port Adelaide Great" attached to this guy. He's just an all round piece of s**t.
Sticks in the craw just like Port Adelaide Life Member Ken Hinkley.

Fortunately he will literally never come back to the club once he's gone. He'll be wearing a Geelong polo the second he's not contractually obliged to wear a Port one.

The most egregious part of the succession plan is that means they've already greenlit him for the next 2 seasons regardless of performance.

Absolutely pathetic football club.

Carr has done his apprenticeship. If you want Carr, why are we waiting 2 years?

Kornes saying that we shouldn't lock in a succession because for all we know Chris Scott or another premiership coach could be available in a couple years?

Hey dickwad

Last year a triple premiership coach was available and the year before that a quadruple premiership coach, both with premiership history at Port, but each time you went all in on stinkers.

Maybe Koch and co are trying to nurse Kenny's coaching record up to 300 games with the no-show for the Granny.

I wouldn't be surprised if he came to the occasional club event in his Geelong polo solely out of spite.

Has the club's narrative changed? I haven't heard anyone from the club acknowledge the succession plan since denying it last August when this story first emerged.
There have a been a few interviews and comments, particularly from Hinkley, how Carr would be a good senior coach following him.

In the past it’s always been “I want to coach forever”

Best case scenario in 2024 is that we win the flag or at the very least, contest a Grand Final. We all want this, no matter our feelings on Ken/Koch.

If this isn't achievable, the second best case scenario would be for the falls to fall off completely and the trigger gets pulled on this plan a year early, and we can finally be rid of him.

Because Ken is being paid for two years.

It all seems logical but not sure id trust what I’m hearing.

Kanes comments about ‘now Ken finally has tall defenders’….. always the ‘what if’s’…….

He just has a personal agenda for Ken for whatever reason, probably just to be the opposite to the white noise.

He wants Ken to clock 300 so they can be on 300 together. That's it. The Kornes-Hinkley relationship is the poster child for everything wrong with today's football media: full of ex players, club board members, who are too well connected to the people in high up club positions. All of them gutless.
