We'll also likely get to see a bunch of our younger guys get a real go at the senior level this year too. C Lyons, T Berry, Skinner, Payne, Wooler etc - they should all play a handful of games you'd think. Silver lining perhaps.

Good decision by Gilligan and his minions-

The first four rounds of the season would remain as fixtured (regardless of when they are played), but the rest of the 13 rounds would be "recalibrated".

The potential of shortening game time provided greater flexibility to play multiple games in an "accelerated" period. It could include playing multiple matches in the space of a week.

Games with no spectators would allow flexibility for broadcasters to play matches on non-traditional football days including Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The four-week finals series structure would continue as planned – with no date locked in.

At least we will still get to play the Magpies at the Gabba, probably no spectators though, how weird will that be.

From what I heard of the presser he said they have 40 weeks to finish the season which takes us to just before Christmas, extraordinary times ahead, something we will be able to tell our grandchildren about... or in my case great grandchildren.. if I survive long enough.

You'd assume clubs with 2-3 less home games and presumably a lot of empty crowds will still be losing a lot of money even if we get to 17 games.
