BjlVFAY.png
Hello and welcome to the Season 37 Mobbenfuhrer Medal count to determine the SFA's best and fairest play as adjudged by the Qooty sim.

The Mobbs Medal is awarded to the best and most consistent player. Each game, the sim randomly generates text commentary, stats as well as the best 3 players for each game. These votes are collected by the Simmers and sent privately to the Admin to be recorded.

Tonight's program will be as follows:

  • Fred Medal Presentation (Award for Leading Goal Kicker)
  • SFACA MVP Presentation (Award for best sim performer voted by the committee decided by the Administrator)
  • Frankston Rover Award Presentation (Award for best contribution as awarded by the Administrator)
  • EKA Medal Presentation (Award for most Outstanding Rookie as decided by the committee)
  • Mobbs Medal Winner Presentation
The official count will commence shortly, but first I would like to say a massive thank you to volunteers who made this night possible.

In true Qooty fashion, this count will be reverting to some of the old-fashion text based votes.

The simmers this year went above and beyond and we thank them tirelessly for their work to keep this place ticking along under the given circumstances.

Please show your appreciation to TheInjuryFactory who supplied the graphics and to Mooch, Falconista, thewizardmelon, MWPP, DenieD, PhenomenalV1 and tony for the round writeups this season.

The count will begin shortly, for now, please feel welcome to get stuck into the champagne, the beers, or whatever your might fancy tonight.

TWO Mobbs Medal threads??
This feels a little decadent.

Giving you fair warning ClarkeM, I will be presenting the #PhenoMedalV1 in this thread, regardless of it being an unsanctioned award.

Season 37 Round 1

East Side Hawks 18.15 (123) defeat Baghdad Bombers 17.7 (109)

S36 prelim finalists Baghdad Bombers kicked off against the Hawks - who only missed out on the spoon because the Old Boys 10 point penalty - would have come here full of confidence. The game started apace with gab213 and Tarkyn_24 going goal for goal. Tarkyn_24 just kept on keeping on and kicked his team into a handy lead at half time.
Strigoi put on a masterclass in the ruck with 15 hitouts, 36 disposals and 2.3 goals. A ruck performance for the ages, aided and abetted by Tadpole (Rankine2Rachele) (29 touches, 8 tackles and a goal) Bovo battled hard to bring his team back in it with 18 disposal, 5 tackles and a couple of goals. A glorious assist from him for another gab213 goal (5.2 overall) brought the Bombers within a goal early in the last. But the Strigoi and Tarkyn_24 show wasn’t to be stopped.
The result would give confidence to the Hawks for S37. They would have won by a lot more but for inaccuracy in front of goal but they will take the 4 points today.

Ophidian Old Boys 13.5 (83) defeat Las Vegas Bears 10.12 (72)

The Old Boys made all the right noises in the off season about hitting this season hard after last season’s …. Indiscretions earned them the spoon. Beaten grand finalists Bears had other ideas of their own, looking to go a step further in S37
The Bears drew first blood through Millky95 (who finished with 22 disposals, 5 tackles and 3.2 goals) but the Old Boys hit back through Mrs Turbo and Harvey Manfrenjensenden. The game was much of a non-event after this with neither team really taking a hold on the game. Fleabane took 27 disposals while Cap kicked 3.3 goals. The Old Boys shared the goals around with 5 multiple goal kickers (Wickzki with 3, myblueroan, Mrs Turbo, Harvey Manfrenjensenden, and King Tenz with a couple each).
The most intense battle of the day was between rucks Tigerturbulance (12 hitouts, 19 disposals) and Test Tickle (9 hitouts, 24 disposals), with the former marginally winning the battle.
The Bears still could have won it in the last quarter except that with Jezmiester40 , Cap, and Millky95 sharing 8 behinds between them, it wasn’t to be.

Fighting Furies 24.16 (160) defeat Mount Buller Demons 14.10 (94)

While the Furies missed out on finals in S36, the Demons went on to a prelim and were disappointed not to make the big dance. But in a 12 goal to 6 first half, the Furies threw the form book out the window. ShaunDuggan (4.2g) and The Cryptkeeper (7.1g) were deadly accurate up top, while Frederico_WA (32 disposals, 2.2 goals) and crazywildhorse (31 disposals 1.4 goals) ran the show, despite the best efforts of scythe (21 disposals) and sante (23 disposals). sausageroll's 5.3 goals might have led to the four points on another day but not today.
NaturalDisaster (18 hitouts, 27 disposals, 2.1 goals) and Hate (15 hitouts, 26 disposals) jumped and pushed and wrestled each other but that was probably the only even contest on the day. The Furies ended up 11 goal winners and really made a statement to the contenders of S37.

Sin City Swamprats 24.9 (153) defeat West Coast Wonders 14.5 (89)

Two of the teams who made up the numbers in finals in S36 would have wanted to come out and make a statement in round 1. In the end only one of them did. The rats got off to a fast start thanks to the Ants - ant555 with 26 disposals and 3 goals, Ant Bear with 5.1 contributing to 15 first half Swampy goals. I’d like to say that the Wonders made a fight of the second half but that would be misleading. Sure, Grand Uncle Horace helped himself to 24 touches and a goal - his opponent GremioPower had 25 touches - DenieD stood up for Kens everywhere and kicked 3.1 goals but then philreich kicked the same while also grabbing 21 disposals. dogs105 played a very good ruck game actually with 14 hitouts, 22 disposals and 3 goals. Very respectable indeed. But he was left holding damicky's beer who had a world record (probably - Hate?) 20 hitouts, 18 disposals and a goal.
The Rats certainly showed they mean business in S37 while the Wonders need to go back to the drawing board.

Roys FFC 14.11 (95) defeat Coney Island Warriors 11.7 (73)

The Warriors just made finals last year while the Roys just missed out. So this had all the hallmarks of a game you’d nip out of at 3 quarter time to catch the start of the bingo. The game truly lived down to expectations and it took until the ninth minute for the first goal action, when The Filth Wizard kicked the first of his 2.2 goals.
In the middle, Pure Grunt (25 disposals) and Phar Ace (21 disposals) trudged around with TheInjuryFactory (21 touches) doing much the same. Tonga Bob did a decent job in the ruck with 10 hitouts, 12 disposals and 3 goals and Mooch kicked 3.4 for the Roys. But the match winner was a player who surprised nobody away from the BJO but just might raise a few eyebrows elsewhere. Aristotle Pickett kicked 5.0 to start his season with a bang. The Roys went on to snatch a 3-goal win and the Wonders will be wondering how the hell did that happen.

Gold City Royals 13.6 (84) lost to Dragons FFC 19.13 (127)

The Dragons embarrassed themselves in S36 finals and were looking to do much better, starting with the Royals, who missed finals altogether last time around. Brenton Davy (3.1 goals) kicked the first of the game but that just seemed to anger the Dragons, who kicked 6 without reply before quarter time. krakouers was outstanding in the 2nd, taking control of the ball, tackling everything that moved and kicking the first of his goals (30 disposals, 10 tackles, 2.2 goals). But then the Dragons started breathing fire again. Footypie32 (27 disposals, 10 marks) was great above his head but freo84 (29 disposals, 16 marks) showed the way. Alongside Greenery (26 touches, 1.3 goals) and big_icky (24 touches, 2.1 goals), who masterfully fed Hatchy1992 for his 4.2 goals, they took the game and killed it dead. Not even the veteran GreyCrow turning back the clock in the ruck (16 hutouts, 27 disposals, 7 tackles and a goal) was enough to put the fire out.

Season 37 Round 2

East Side Hawks 10.4 (64) defeated by Gold City Royals 19.10 (124)

Well... didn't the form of these two teams flip from round one! The Royals were never really challenged in this clash as only a touch of second half inaccuracy stopped them winning by a larger margin. GreyCrow and krakouers were both vying for BOG honours with 104 and 99 DT respectively. Nothing, Ulahoopski and Cadsky are the other Royals who are most likely to poll. No Hawk had significant stats though Zoops, Rankine2Rachele and MP_ were their best on the day.

Sin City Swamprats 18.12 (120) defeated by Mount Buller Demons 19.12 (126)

Underground Stadium hosted a high-scoring thriller with the Demons winning their first match of the season. For the winners, sausageroll (4.3), moginie (21 disposals, 11 tackles), Scythe94 (22 disposals) and Hate (22 disposals, 11 hit outs) were all excellent. It is however a Swamprat who should get the 3 votes- BloodySwan (31 disposals, 131 DT). Teammates ant555 and philreich also put in strong performances.

Gumbies FFC 8.6 (54) defeated by Las Vegas Bears 11.16 (82)

The Gumbies unveiled their premiership flag but it was their underwear that was later unveiled after the Bears pulled their pants down (metaphorically, to be clear). It was a match of moderate stats with most players recording 30-60 DT. For the winners, RookiePick (56 DT), Millky95 (58 DT) and Tandy (59 DT) all performed strongly with Cap the star at full forward with 4 goals. The Gumbies best were cats_09 (74 DT) and nobbyiscool (6 tackles and 1 goal).

Coney Island Warriors 17.14 (116) defeat Baghdad Bombers 13.18 (96)

The Warriors recorded their first win of the season as the Bombers sprayed their stats everywhere in the last quarter. pantskyle (20 disposals, 9 tackles), Paracleet (20 disposals, 3.2), Tonga Bob (24 disposals, 16 hit outs) and The Filth Wizard (4.4) were all excellent for the winners. The vanquished meanwhile were led by MayTheNorthBeWithU (23 disposals, 8 hit outs), Bovo (30 disposals, 7 tackles) and gab213 (4.5).

West Coast Wonders 26.12 (168) defeat Roys FFC 10.10 (70)

The Roys would have been feeling very good after a round one win. By early in the second quarter, any residual happiness would have dissipated as the Wonders activated beast mode. HARPSichord (26 disposals, 5 goals) would be very stiff to miss the 3 votes. Also impressive for the winners were dogs105 (28 disposals, 18 hit outs), Grand Uncle Horace (30 disposals, 2 tackles), Oisin_the_Goat (18 disposals, 4 tackles) and DenieD (5.1). For the 'Rillas, tigs2010 and MrsEddieBetts each recorded 7 tackles which leave them as the Roys' greatest chances of sim attention.

Dragons FFC 12.7 (79) defeated by Ophidian Old Boys 21.16 (142)

The two reptilian teams met with the hostility between the teams still very evident. The match though wasn't much chop as the Old Boys smashed the Dragons in the opening half and cruised to victory. The winning team were led by Elton Johns Wig (20 disposals, 6 tackles), Mrs Turbo (19 disposals, 89 DT) and Harvey Manfrenjensenden (5.3). At the Dragons, Ligma put on a stunning display with 22 disposals and 9 tackles which may garner the 3 votes. Pie 4 Life (25 disposals, 16 hit outs, 2 goals) and Greenery (21 disposals, 6 tackles) were also prominent.
