Mount Buller Demons 10.8 (68) defeated by Coney Island Warriors 13.4 (82)

The Demons, starting 8th on the ladder, needed a win to secure a finals spot, while the Warriors, in 12th, needed a win and a host of results to go in their favour to make the finals.
The Warriors took an early lead, finishing the 1st quarter ahead by 11 points. The Demons fought back in the 2nd quarter, with 2 goals from Sausageroll helping them turn the game around to lead by 3 points at halftime.

The Warriors' accurate kicking saw them regain the lead in the third quarter with goals from Ocha905, Reginald Perrin, and TheInjuryFactory. Despite the Demons having three more shots by three quarter time, the Warriors' accuracy in front of goal gave them a 7 point lead.

In the final quarter, the Demons, knowing their finals chances were hanging by a thread, threw everything they had at the Warriors. However, it was the experienced heads of the Warriors; The Filth Wizard, TubbsFarquhar, and pantskyle, who kicked goals to keep the Demons at bay. The Warriors' win saw them finish 9th, just outside the top 8 on percentage, while the Demons fell to 10th position.

The Filth Wizard was the standout performer with 4 goals, while Footyguy13 led the disposals for the Warriors with 29. For the Demons, Truetiger, Sante and Sausageroll each kicked 2 goals, and Cats2Rise collected 25 disposals.

Roys FFC 9.7 (61) defeated by Las Vegas Bears 12.9 (81)

Heading into the last game of the season, the Roys needed a win to secure a top 4 spot, while the Bears needed a win and other results to go their way to finish in the top 8. The game started with the Bears taking an early lead, but the Roys quickly responded, making it a close contest by the end of the first quarter, with the Bears ahead by just 1 point. The Bears slightly extended their lead in the second quarter to lead by 6 points at halftime.

The third quarter saw the Bears start to dominate, extending their lead to 20 points, which they maintained into the final quarter. Despite a spirited final quarter from the Roys, the closest they would get was 14 points, with the Bears securing the win by 20 points.

Test Tickle was pivotal for the Bears with 22 disposals and 7 tackles. Millky95 added 2 goals and 20 disposals, while Matera92 had 23 disposals and 11 marks. For the Roys, Royboy2 had 27 disposals and 8 tackles, and Elmer_Judd had 22 disposals and 10 marks.

The Roysā€™ loss didnā€™t affect their final position as other results helped them retain their 4th spot. The Bearsā€™ win, and other results falling their way, allowed them to scrape into the 8th position.

That final round wasn't good for either the Warriors or the Demons. We really should have just given the ball to pantskyle, loved by both clubs.

This is the time KP would start filing the ol' tax return and crochet a sweater from scratch.

Being on different toadstools from time to time really lets us appreciate the wonderful times we're sitting on toadstools with the same group of fairies. šŸ¤—
