AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
the likely move of Chad Cornes to centre-half-back should shore up the defence provided he can stay fit
SAAAAIIIIIIIIEEE WHAAAA
Then most supporters realized Chad's offseason play has been to the same level of a one legged, one armed and one eyed retired pirate.Unitl the trial games begun most Port supporters wanted this to occur too.
Chad isn't "shit", more he's been out of form for a while. Injuries and all things considered, he really needs to show the world he's capable of regaining his best, otherwise he's just a senior player filling the list.^On the "Chad Cornes is now $hit issue", I'd just like to say that I believe Chad will bounce back. We've seen a couple of games, and he hasn't been great (maybe understatement) and yes his last two years have been pretty crap also (would like to point out plagued with injury) BUT he's just getting settled back there, and as he said on radio today, may take a more shut down role this year. Chad'll do good
On the season previews, I've not been impressed with the quality or depth of any one piece of work especially those written by "expert" journalists.
"They have had just about their best side out in the NAB Cup and I am not convinced it's good enough."

I know this is a little off the topic but can anyone tell me exactly how many time Port have contested the AFL finals?
I would give Chad until Round 5 to show he his capable to keeping his position... if not then bring in Jackson Trengove (I am really impressed with him).
IMO I Chad has lost the desire to contribute for an entire season. Sure he might get himself up for some big games here and there, but motivation has always been an issue for him. He seems to get to easily satisfied. Early in his career after proving himself as a foward he seemed to plateau out before being re-motivated by moving to CHB. Then plateaued again at CHB before moving to the midfield where he again was re-motivated. He seems to have plateaued again in the middle and injuries have only compounded this.
I am hoping the move back to CHB will re-motivate Chad, but my gut feel is he will struggle for consistency either due to injuries, interest or both.
So give him 5 games to prove his desire otherwise I would rather see a young, "itching at the bit" JT slot in.

8 out of our 13 years, not making it in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2008 and 2009
