This guy is irritating the fcuk out of me the last week or so.
Love to shut him up. Reward or deserve has got nothing to do with it Craig

Genuinely my least favourite coach at the moment. Something about him that doesn't sit well with me (he's far from the only coach to moan about umpires for example).

I mean, not to harp on, but where is the humility? I'm sure most people would recognise that the position they are in involves a fair bit of luck, yet has the audacity to complain about dragging the ball in free kicks. That's been a rule for ages. Coach better if you don't like it.

For a bloke who's all about winning, he sure does his fair share of bitching and moaning. LOSERS bitch and moan about things they can't control, winners get on with it.

The losers comment is just completely bizarre to me. I mean, I know they've been "lucky" to a certain extent but the guy can clearly coach so maybe it's something I'm missing but I can't for the life of me understand how anyone thinks what he said was reasonable comment.

If I was a player I'd be thinking get absolutely ****ed. Lying on the ground after you've just played an epic and just come up short doesnt make anyone a loser and it's sure as **** not acting like one.

Personally think we'll struggle against the Pies. We just dont have the bodies / experience to cope with the level of pressure they'll bring. If it rains we are shot IMO.

Anything from here is an absolute bonus, the belief from coming back from that deficit will fill us with belief the next 8 years
Insert <bin emoji>

Freo will shock the pies and win a nail biter

It's a Matthews thing apparently. I think the part of the story Craig has missed is he was about half the player with 1/10th the presence of Matthews. I think he'd need a lot more runs on the board to make that stuff stick. As cringeworthy to me as the power stance crows.

Re luck: the ordinary goal kicking alone from the Dees (especially) tells you luck matters. That game could have been 10 goals at half time. I am willing to give him some credit for it as I think it is basically a mathematically insignificant chance to happen through luck alone but as good as their positive traits are, they have to have some ordinary ones to only win so many games by <10 points. It's not like they are a young team either which usually gives you an out for being that flaky at times (ie us).

I would bring in Meek before Tabs. Tabs still looks underdone and Meek was BOG with 22 disposals, 29 hit outs and 3 goals. The guy is a jet. I hope we keep him.

Amiss stays. Logue stays.

Unchanged.

On watching the replay the NOD hammy grab is probably cramp. He manages to stride out when heading to the bench.

I'd still go Logue for Tabs. Object of the game is kick more goals than the opposition.

There's a definite thinly veiled smugness.

I don't think we'll win for reasons others have stated but it would be bloody beautiful to knock them out in straight sets.

I have a feeling that this game, both games actually, will be a blowout.

I just hope we are not on the wrong end of it. While the Pies finished above us, their percentage would indicate that things have gone their way quite a bit in terms of close wins. If Freo are at their best they can win this.

It's his ankle that I worry about, might be some residual effects after getting through the game on it. He was in a lot of pain..

Every single year the teams that lose the qualifying finals are talked about as on a downward path against the rampaging elimination final teams riding their momentum.

Almost every year the top four side wins the semi final. We weren't far off being that top four side though.

Tabs has to come in against Moore. Lobb will need the help.
Can play Tabs, Amiss and Lobb. Logue goes down back.

Schulz looks sore. Amiss could be managed
If that 25-hour warrior Shoota’s not sore to his marrow I’d be astounded. But he won’t be the first to say it
Out: First final nerves.
i hope that means we start better…. I have no nails left with all these come from behind wins.

I do feel we play much better when we are chasing, we play with more dare.
Agree. From that POV I’m thinking/hoping it will help our boys to be the upstart villains v Pies at MCG.

In an ideal world we would move Logue back to bring Tabs in. But we cannot disrupt the harmony of that back 6 at the moment, them plus Serong and Bae are the reason why we are competing for a prelim spot right now. I want Tabs in but I just don't see how they can work him into that team

Yeah but Collingwood lost a close one to flag favourites Geelong whereas we found ourselves down 42-1 to 8th at home. So Collingwood going in as huge favourites. No one is really giving us a chance. Which is what will make it so much better if we do pull it off

The selection dilemma, however Jlo and the coaches go, it’s will be very harsh on somebody. I think we need Tabs to play up the ground as he is probably our best “down the line” target if we need it. No way we drop Amiss. Looking at our defence Pearce and Cox are locks for our tall lockdown and tall interceptor. Chapman/Clark/Young are also locks as the running/intercept defenders. We need at least one lockdown small dedender which is either Walker or Ryan. I think Ryan is great at intercepting and lockdown, but I prefer to not have him permanently following one guy, so I think Ryan and Walker both play. So given Tabs is in one of our forwards has to miss out. Sonny is a lock and I think Freddy gives us something nobody else does, so it’s down to Shultz, Switter or Logue. All the stats tell us Switter is our best pressure defender and has way more pace than Shultz so he is in and it leaves just Shultz or Logue to go out. I think Logue can do everything Shultz can do as a forward, he is just as quick and agile as Shultz. But Logue can also play tall or back or ruck or anywhere. So for me Tabs in Shultz out this week…UNLESSS….O’Driscoll is injured or even slightly suspect, then he can go out and Aish can play more on his wing. Again I noticed last week (as it has been all year) our key mids have very low game time. Brayshaw (79%), Aish (78), Serong (72), O’Driscoll (69), Mundy (65), Brodie (64). So we can easily accomodate a midfielder going out. For example Lachie Neale didn’t come off the ground in the last half against Melbourne.

"That doesnt sit well with me"

WTF? Do we make you CEO then you snivelling little campaigner

Whatever about Tabs coming in or not…
If we win and Fyfe is passed fit to go for the following week against Sydney - he’s playing. 100% cast iron certainty. Somebody will come out.
Anyone who thinks a fit Nat Fyfe is going to sit in the stand beside Bob Murphy watching a prelim final has got rocks in their heads.
Is there even one example in AFL history of that type of situation, where an A grader was passed fit for a prelim or grand final and then sat in the stands to “not upset team balance”?

Of course not, but Fyfe has bigger injury problems than just his hammy. You can see by the way he's played this year that his shoulder is still giving him problems too.
