Prediction Semi Final: Changes Vs Collingwood (We survived to round 2!)

Tabs should be able to outmark and outwork Amiss and if he isn't capable of doing that then he isn't an upgrade on that spot.

It's likely that Jye will be sore and slower this week and his primary weapon of speed on the lead might come back to the pack - especially if someone like Moore is matched up on him.

fully fit tabs is a better player then amiss at this point yes. the question is if he's fully fit imo, and given his season and how he played yesterday from reports i'm not sure the risk is worth taking over playing jye.

This guy is irritating the fcuk out of me the last week or so.
Love to shut him up. Reward or deserve has got nothing to do with it Craig

Glad some people are starting to call this little midget out. Bitching about umpires and his players acting like losers (by lying down on the ground?!) after being shattered about a loss. Like what are you on about, you weak campaigner?

Reminds me of Chris Fagan when everyone was pumping his tyres and I'm over here the whole time thinking the guy is just a massive dickhead.

Unchanged. Collingwood playing good footy but honestly lucky to finish top 4.

We’re a better team and we’re every chance to beat them on their home deck, we play the G very well.
I think their 4th place flattered them greatly, but they were every bit the top 4 side on Saturday.

Every single year the teams that lose the qualifying finals are talked about as on a downward path against the rampaging elimination final teams riding their momentum.

Almost every year the top four side wins the semi final. We weren't far off being that top four side though.

Since the year 2000 (the intro of the current final 8 system) there have been 44 semi-finals, losing qualifying final teams have lost 9 times to winning elimination final teams.

2001 - 3rd placed Port lost to 2nd placed Brisbane. They then played 6th placed Hawks who won by 3 points.
2007 - 3rd placed Eagles lost to 2nd placed Port. They then played 6th placed Collingwood who won by 19 points.
2014 - 3rd placed Geelong lost to 2nd placed Hawks. They then played 6th placed North Melbourne who won by 6 points. AND
4th placed Fremantle lost to 1st placed Sydney. We then played 5th placed Port who won by 22 points.
2015 - 4th placed Sydney lost to 1st placed Freo. They then played 8th placed North who won by 26 points.
2016 - 3rd placed Hawks lost to 2nd placed Geelong. They then played 7th placed Bulldogs who won by 23 points.
2018 - 4th placed Hawks lost to 1st placed Richmond. They then played 5th placed Melbounre who won by 33 points.
2019 - 2nd placed Brisbane lost to 3rd placed Richmond. They then played 6th placed GWS who won by 3 points.
2021 - 4th placed Brisbane lost to 1st placed Melbourne. They then played 5th placed Bulldogs who won by 1 point.

So while its not that common over 22 years, over the last 8 years its pretty much one per year.

freddy is absolutely going to abuse them on the wide deck with his pace and nothings going to get past clark young and cox in transition, brayshaw will mow down that slow pendlebury half a dozen times, logue wont let moore get a run at it and amiss will kick 5 straight

Just quietly, given how quick Amiss is and the distance Howe and Moore play off their man, if we provide quality delivery, Jye could kick a mini bag. Unlikely as there will be too much pressure up field, but I can see it happening of Aish/Young/Mundy etc have space at times.

helps when they get to play an 'away' game at their home in front of their supporters
Sure it helps, but that performance was A+ regardless.

We were 16 points down early Q4 in round 10 ... suspect we panicked a bit and to Pies credit their pressure was good and they hit us on turnover. Add to that 8 inside 50 marks quite a few which were very deep I50 ... there is a lot of room for improvement from last time we played!

That's not what some people here are saying though. They are saying no changes whether Taberner is fully fit or not.

It's not as if we played the best game in history the other night if people can remember correctly. We were at home against the worst team in the finals and we let them get out to a 7 goal lead. It was amazing that we managed to claw it back but it's not like there is no room for improvement.
