Prediction Semi Final: Changes Vs Collingwood (We survived to round 2!)

No chance that Amiss is dropped! I want to see what he can do with a follow up AFL game. He was unlucky to be dropped after his debut with some returning from injury. I don't think Tabs gets up but if he does could we see Logue shift back onto Elliot? Could be a good match up. No idea who would come out for Tabs either.

The 50 was there. The ump (Williamson) asked the player 4 times to leave the area. He physically sighed when he had to pay the 50.
They’d done it a couple of times earlier in the game. Skirting the edge of the protected zone, moving around on the mark.

Believe. Achieve. Succeed.

You must solve one problem at a time to proceed. Bulldogs. check.

The Collingwood streak bubble just burst...

I'm feeling very bullish. We have absolutely nothing to lose. Underdogs.

Hostile away environment. Feed on it. 80000 feral sanctimonious pie supporters at the MCG against us. Just like a West Coast home crowd.

Time to break the 'pies hearts. Jump on board peeps.

Ed Langdon wasn’t exactly wrong with his comments about Collingwood.

They play an all or nothing brand.

Like an NBA all star game. Just back and forth.

They obviously do it well because they’re all on the same page with it.

This ‘brand’ probably lends itself to 50-50 type games and they’ve just landed on the correct side EVERY time… except for Cats.

The Swans held them up quite well but I watched that game and Pies were still relentless in trying to go through the middle.

Hopefully, we defensively hold up and hit them on the counter.

Even their kick ins are impressive.
Absolutely! Some of the kick-ins on the weekend were wicked.

Will Matt Taberner play next week?
'Tabs' has to play tomorrow in the WAFL and we will see how he goes. Jye’s performance was great and we couldn’t probably have asked for much more out of him so we will work on that during the week, I won’t touch on selection now. Jye played well so I’m not sure his spot is up for grabs

so says the coach

Nah. He flew under the ball many times. Went up one handed a few times. Got caught behind numerous times to give up defensive marks.

Sure he provided a contest a few times, but he’s a forward and when you bang it in long that’s the least you’d hope for.

Zero tackles.

He was diabolical. I have watched the game a few times already!
Also got ignored when free a lot of times with the kicker choosing to go longer to congestion. I thought he was better than it seemed and I have seen it three times.

If Fyfe was available next week (he isn’t but if he was), would Brodie be under threat?
Where would you slot him into the 22?
If we win and he’s fit for Sydney (it will be 21 days exactly since the hammy) he will definitely play and some one will be unlucky

Tabs kicked 2.2 today from 13 disposals. He should play alongside Lobb and Amiss. Stretch their defence and keep Moore and Howe accountable. Logue is the one who makes way.

If it was a day game on a sunny MCG I'd agree. But the forecast isn't great, better to go with a more mobile line up IMO.

Will probably be Amiss who misses out unless he kicks 3 or 4 this week.

I don’t know that Fyfe is a walk up to be honest. By GF he’ll have missed 6 weeks of footy in a row…I’m not sure I’d be prepared to put him in.

If Freo can get to a grand final, I think Fyfe will play out the game as the deepest forward even with a torn hamstring.

I wouldn't bet on that. The evidence is piling up that Fyfie needs a few consecutive games when fully fit to show he can add something to our current side. Next year.

If we make it to the GF it would be tempting to make 3 or 4 changes. Third consecutive away game will hypothetically be tough for the younger guys.

Agree with him being ignored a few times when open. Why do you think they ignored him?
I know what you're suggesting but his field kicking is ok. It's his goal-kicking that is the issue. I wouldn't mind them ignoring him so much, if there was a better option, but there wasn't/
