Managed to get down to Kardinia Park this morning. Moving ahead at a rapid pace!

Very interesting. Couple of observations:
1) The roof join between the Premiership Stand and Brownlow Stand is curved? Or is that temporary?
2) Good to see the Screen brackets going up
3) The social club seats being a darker navy blue then the others leads me to believe they may be padded like MCG 2nd level in the AFL reserve
4) Also with that dark navy blue, there is a high possibility that there will be white seats that spell Go Cats (or we can hope ;))

Couple of Questions:
1) Is both Media and Cats Coaching Box going on the top level?
2) Is the small mezzanine level to the left part of the social club, or more corporate dinning?

To the best of my knowledge:

Highly doubt it (hopeful though), as there are only 3 bays of social club to have blue seats, and with one of them already gone, i can't really see it happening.

A question about the oppositions change room and coach's box. Will they still be in the Hickey stand or have they made room in the new stand for them?
The rooms are definitely staying in the hickey (there's no room in the new stand, it's all GFC admin/training stuff), so I would assume the coaches box will stay there too.

Geez I'd love to be able to get Social Club membership it looks fantastic. Maybe one day

Can't help but wonder what corporate they'll have in the Ford/Gary Ablett tce, I like it far better to the back of lvl 1 leaving all of lvl 2 for seating then vice versa.

Yeah i agree with this... Similar to what they have at the G behind the city end goals on level 2, there is a function room behind the seating, which doesn't restrict the seating in the level above. I would like to see it follow on from the new social club style, where the seats for the guests are in front of the function room on the bottom level, and then having a concourse on the top level with all public seats.

All this is assuming that there is a need for function rooms in the final stage, since money will be short given it is the final stage, and there are already 5 major function rooms in the stadium - The Peroni Lounge, the room adjacent to the Peroni lounge (ie the south half of hickey stand, no idea what it's called), the Captain's Room, and the combined social club and presidents room.

I think you'll find Stage 5 will be somewhat very similar to that of at the Players Stand end with the only corporate or function areas facing north for the Geelong Cricket Club.

Screen installation nearly complete. The screen is about the size of the one between the Hickey and Players stands, about 3 times bigger than the old northern end screen. Fans on the Moorabool Street wing will be very pleased I'm sure!
More navy blue Social Club seats - I think they are padded but couldn't get close enough to be sure.
The curving connector between the Brownlow and Premiership stands looks permanent.
Lots of glass in the main entrance facade - looks great.
There is a "grand staircase" leading up from the ground level to the big opening at level 1. It will be a fantastic entry to the ground on game day or just for a casual visit (assuming you can just roll in and check out the oval or use the dining facilities on non-game days.)
Mission brown-ish cladding beside the white facade and Cats' logo of the Premiership stand looks kind of ugh! Hopefully it will look a lot better when everything else is in place.

No doubt most of that will be used for static advertising.

Such a waste how we have a bloody big screen and 1/4 of the surface area (give or take) has the bloody momentum logo on it

Anyone know what's going on with the roof between the premiership and brownlow stands? Looks like it will be different which is disappointing.

It kinda looks like they designed it not to connect as to show a clear distinction between the two stands but later realised having a gap wouldn't be a good idea for the fans caught in the rain, much like the wind whipping through the back of the players stand before they finally fixed that issue.

They joined the premiership and past players stand correctly, makes no sense this would be different.

Regarding the big screen; an email from the club (Simon Reeves) today says:

[Hickey Club Seat holders will enjoy a new, direct-facing, state-of-the-art ~100m² big screen, which will include a live feed and scoreboard, offering an enhanced game day experience at Simonds Stadium!]

In addition:

[To improve mobile network coverage, generate faster speeds and greater reliability for connectivity on game day, we worked with Telstra to have mobile towers around the Kardinia Park Stadium precinct upgraded. Now complete, our fans will be able to text, call, hashtag, snap, insta, tweet & post about the game with ease!]

These are great initiatives from the club providing us with a fantastic decade or two of spectating. Let's hope the quality of footy matches that experience.

Great news about the telstra thing. I noticed it at the cricket but thought it might be just the lack of people there, so this is great news.

Regarding the wierd connection between stands, i could vaguely remember the same thing happening in the last stage, and much to me relief have found a picture of it in the stage 3 thread (from samtheman1976, would tag but don't know how)

So it looks like it is just temporary after all, as the gap between the players and premiership stands are now normal.

Great news. Not going to lie, I had a search through the stage 3 thread, but couldn't find anything between the gap in the roof line, and completion. Must be a structural thing to help with the canvas

Can I ask how people manage to get into the ground and take photos?
I don't know about others but I go in in the northern gate on moorabool street... Go on a Geelong cricket club training or game day and the gate is open as they use the Ablett terrace concourse as a Car park. I have no idea if this still works atm because I think the premier cricket season is done, but who knows.
