Depends on how we go next year I reckon.

If we pancake it halfway through again then he might be given an opportunity toward the back end of the season.
Isn't it mostly just tank holding him back?
McGinnity has been awesome since he returned to the side
Led the side for clangers and free kicks against, finished with 14 touches spending more time on the ground than Shuey, Gaff and Priddis, and wasn't a dedicated tagger. We should be able to do better.

He's been okay. Did some good things today but had some shockers too. Can't question his work rate but we need to have higher standards than that if we are going to match it with the elite sides of the comp.

not wrong, and i'd be pretty worried if we had him as a starter... but as purely a depth player i'm happy for him to come in like he has over the past few weeks when we've had a number of midfield outs.

Needs 2-3 years before kudos or daggers are applied, happy to trust him and back him until he has proper time to develop himself and the team. A few weeks ago people were screaming for his head..ridiculous.

Bump ................... time for some Simmo kudos methinks.

I am not 100% sold on these last remaining games meaning anything.. the lack of pressure applied to us has been stark. Earlier in the year when teams cared more they put allot of pressure on us and we floundered. Now seasons are basically over IMO the edge has been taken off and our skills are better because of it.

Next year when the heat is back on we shall see..

That is true - but I go back 12 months and we had put the cue away at this time and got absolutely flogged. The way we finished 2013 was appalling.

Sure we had injuries last year - we got them this year.

Also look at the teams we have played and looked good.

Collingwood and adelaide - dont see them banging the door down for the flag this year

Perform well against hawthorn or geelong and i might get a bit more excited.

We were all screaming for his head mid-season but Simpson has improved in the past two weeks. IMO he's doing a good job as coach and remember he was an assistant to Clarko for the Hawks last season.

Although we are struck by injuries this year, we are definitely on the up.

Playing some exciting football and it is is pleasing to see all the hard work pay off...there is a chance we might make finals but if not it is good to see we are pushing forward with something exciting to look forward too.

We were playing this type of footy during the preseason, I really don't know how we became a different team during the year. Only now do we resemble our preseason form.

I don't recall many people asking for his head - just questioning the lack of improvement - that even he stated was expected. Well its finally come so that's good. If we make finals I will be impressed. If we don't, I think questions will still remain.

Our two best performances have come against sides that have been legitimately in the race for spots in the eight and have more to play for than us. It's not like we've beat up on Melbourne and Brisbane who are just playing out the year.

Yep it has been pleasing in that aspect. They both had more to play for than us and we beat them.

I agree. Sure neither are top 4 but both have a lot more to play for than West Coast.

But they didn't play that way, and that was my point. This season more than ever it doesn't matter what ladder position you have, if you don't come to play you are likely going to loose. I don't think Adelaide or Collingwood really turned up over 4 quarters and it made us look a little better than we are.

The fact Hurn and Shuey (Hurn especially) were allowed to run loose for the first quarter is bewildering to me and a sign the blokes "tagging" them didn't come to play.

Aww yeah youre a glass half empty kind.

You thought the maybe Adelaide and Collywood looked crap because thats the way made them look?

Have to feel sorry for Simpson and the team - they've been criticised all year for being flat track bullies who can only beat bottom of the ladder sides. Now they beat up on two sides in the eight and it doesn't mean anything because the other sides didn't come to play?

Yeah I understand what you are saying Boda. Its not the result itself, its the way they didnt try and clamp down as such when they were getting carved up.
