Wonder if he will be in demand lol. Potentially gets a gig in a different sports, doubt any AFL club has any interest

I am wondering if it's fair.

Waterman is a 25 year old man. If I was sent home from work I wouldn't expect my parents to be informed.
Yeah, not sure Waterman snr has too much cause to be angsty. From Bell's statements, it sounds like the club were continually checking up on him, which you wouldn't get form any other employer.

The fact Chris is a club great doesn't change the fact he's still in this instance just a parent.
It reads as if perhaps he can't see that.

He isn't upset he wasn't contacted, he's saying the club didn't check up on Jake (which is direct conflict with what Bell said)

From the SEN article I posted:

While Waterman acknowledged the Eagles are juggling plenty of on and off-field issues, he was disappointed that the club didn’t check in on Jake until he was days into his hospital stay.

“The club's got a lot going on obviously, but the family and friends are 24/7 around the clock checking in on him just to make sure everything's right, he said.

“They could have probably reached out a bit earlier to check on him,” I would have thought.

“To send him home from Adelaide pretty crook and to find out when he was in hospital on Monday night was the first time they contacted him … it was a bit disappointing.

“I would have thought they'd reached out and just checked on him.

There is a massive conflict between the 2 versions of events?

To send him home by himself with diverticultis is absolutely insane given the state he would have been in. Issue is basically when you have diverticultis and are nearly at the point you are hospiatal bound, you look like death. Its not something that is like hidden

If they sent him on a plane back to Adelaide by himself in that state id be livid if I was a relative of his. Spend the extra 600 bucks and send a staff member home with him you cheap pieces of garbage

He was so hospital bound that he waited another 36hrs before going to hospital? I doubt he was that bad at that point in time.

Chris Waterman is being a dick by airing this publicly. If you have an issue, take it up with the club. The last thing need right now is their own community taking public pot-shots over fairly trivial matters.

Thats not much time at all really.

Chris Waterman is being honest. If it makes the club looks like idiots , thats because the club are acting like idiots im afraid.

Gavin Bells comments to me are quite alarming. This lot can basically never admit they have done something wrong, or bad or improper

At this stage Bell could drown a puppy and he would blame the puppy for not knowing how to swim.

ANother one who has to go it seems
I don't know about alarming, more just impossible to take seriously or to believe. They have zero credibility and believability.

uh...looks like he barely mentioned it...after sticking up for Nissie and Simmo.

Good to see you think Jake potentially never playing AFL footy again is a trivial matter.

Both things could be true though.

After Waterman is admitted to hospital someone from outside the medical team checks in with him for the first time and this is what his dad is complaining about.

The Medical team had been regularly checking in with Waterman (player) from when they sent him home to when he was admitted into hospital.

Honestly Hard to believe the clubs version of events in this given their track record

That said it could be very hard for Jake to get back to AFL level if he is having to have infusions, which if they fail, the next step is surgery which includes temporary colostomy.

Honestly best of luck to him and hope his life can get back to normal and then maybe think of a return to the AFL.

Injuries are one thing but **** me we have been hit hard with Venebles, Shep, and now this in the last couple of years.
