Honestly Hard to believe the clubs version of events in this given their track record

That said it could be very hard for Jake to get back to AFL level if he is having to have infusions, which if they fail, the next step is surgery which includes temporary colostomy.

Honestly best of luck to him and hope his life can get back to normal and then maybe think of a return to the AFL.

Injuries are one thing but * me we have been hit hard with Venebles, Shep, and now this in the last couple of years.
Just a question for you. When the Tassie team comes are you going to stay with the Eagles or convert to this new Tassie team.

Just curious. Would be a weird thing to happen. Supporting a club for so long and then a new side arrives in your home state.

Interesting to hear tassi's responce. Perhaps it is an easier decision as tassi's can have two heads?

Geez I wonder whose telling the truth. The group who have perpetually lied for months on end about every single injury, or a father whose concerned for his son and displaying it in a respectful way.
Just remember that Chris' comments were published by the "West Australian", not quite the bastion of truth there...

Regardless of where the truth lies, this is just another f#*king headache the club doesn't need right now. All the best for a speedy recovery, Jake.
as sad as it sounds, i feel like we need the media circus and onslaught to happen. as it stands i have little faith in the front office to take the necessary actions to get the club back on track, on their own accord.

You’re not wrong.

Club seems to have dropped the ball in so many areas - it’s almost as if they’ve forgotten to turn up. A rudderless ship perhaps.

I know that’s true for many players but the front office staff too.

The worst thing with this is Jake was really hitting his straps this year. It was exciting to think we had a reliable second forward. Now it could all be taken away from him just as he is peaking. Poor guy.

So much this and this is what the club should have said. Adding more angst onto Jake right now to protecr your own egos is kind of just proving Chris correct at this point also

Just say the 100% focus is on Jakes health and we will support him no matter what. That should include a contract extension of some sort.

As a senior player or any player would you really want to put your body on the line for this mob?

The 100% message they are sending with Jakes situation is "If you hurt yourself, we wont discuss a contract with you"

Its a absurd position to take as a team

Simpson just said we are waiting for 3 or 4 players to get results back from scans but we may lose more players this week
Didn't say who they were just that they were senior players.
Wonder what the odds are that Shuey or Yeo is at least one of them.
Shows how unfit they are if they get injured without putting in any effort. I'm so glad we finally sacked Kofead.

SPS, Jilliams, maybe Gov?

Bigger than usual turnout to watch training today - not quite triple figures but wouldn’t have been far off. By comparison, I’m not sure there was double figures last week

They were wearing their indigenous round jumpers due to NAIDOC week so with numbers on coupled with a more than usual amount of training done at the northern end it was much much easier to pick players out

Shortish session overall but my observations:

• McGovern was doing fitness work on the outside oval all session. We won’t see him this week
• Cole, Winder and Foley did all the skills part of the session and were doing additional running afterwards as the others were signing autographs/getting awkward hugs from some random old duck
• Rotham was doing a lot of running on the outside oval
• Allen, SPS and Yeo did little more than walk laps although the first two also did some jogging on the outside oval
• J Williams came out late and only did handballs with Burgiel who made his first appearance since having hamstring surgery
• Cripps did the whole session
• Hurn did Hurn things which is normal for a Tuesday session. Apparently told someone who posts on Twitter that he’s good to play
• Jamieson alternated between the main group and the outside oval
• Harry Edwards was on a scooter on the outside oval so he’s a few weeks away still
• Darling was doing 1v1 ruck work with Barnett and BWilliams under the supervision of Ryan Turnbull
• Petch was back with the forwards
• Jones made his first appearance in a while as well but did little
• Clark popped out late and went straight to the outside oval to do some light fitness work
• No Ryan, Culley, Naitanui and obviously Waterman- think everyone else stuck their head above the parapet at some point though
