So the coach has no say on player rotations?
No they have a person specifically for that.
Seems to be Simmos answer to everything. Even has a person to check if his players are alive or dead

If he cant manage 40 odd people without someone holding his hand, he isnt up to the job as a coachYes, the player welfare manager. Simmo deals largely with the healthy players in the mix for a game. Those injured are in rehab steered by the footy dept boss and S&C. Those unhealthy (Jake Waterman types) would be in communication primarily with footy boss and player welfare manager.
I don't know why this is such a shock. Simmo would be updated on things each week or as necessary, but otherwise he is there to coach the fit players, not deliver chicken soup to someone at home with the sniffles.
Just another day at the Eagles doctors officeSo lets see. Ginbey has a hamstring strain. 2 days later is een running at a good pace around the oval. Medical prognosis : Send him for surgery to help ensure it doesn't happen again.
If I was Ginbey or his manager I'd be asking questions about whether it was really necessary and is this a similar situation to Shuey's calf issues, Naitanui's achilles issue and Yeo's groin issues because its sounding so familiar.
So thats why he is called the coach. Thanks for the clear facts.Yes, the player welfare manager. Simmo deals largely with the healthy players in the mix for a game. There is no such thing as precautionary surgery to strengthen the tendon for the future. The biggest furphy I've heard all year.On CH7 with Ryan Daniels just now, Simpson explained that it was indeed minor and quite low in the hamstring
The operation is a precaution that is intended to strengthen the hamstring for the future
He also said that Shuey’s hamstring is very minor and he’s not feeling any discomfort to the point where he’s a chance to play this weekend pending scans
Yeo a possibility this weekend but if not, will be right the following week
How close to reality any of the above is I wouldn’t now but that is what was said
Put him as sub for the third last game even if he's 50/50.

Would be an absolute travesty if he doesn't make 250.Put him as sub for the third last game even if he's 50/50.
Like Embers before him, it's only fitting that we get to farewell our outgoing club great and Norm Smith medalist in style. By watching him play his 250th and final game in a crushing home defeat at the hands of Adelaide.
On this week’s “Ask Simmo”, Simpson pretty much said he was surprised to see Ginbey running at training and had to ask the question as to why he was doing that. Not sure whose making these decisions or allowing these things to happen but surely something needs to change…
