Probably owed Nisbett $5 for a coffee 2 weeks ago and Trev had to take matters into his own hands.
Youngster Harry Edwards has been withdrawn from the Eagles’ emergency list for Sunday’s clash with Geelong after suffering a wrist injury at training. “Edwards injured his wrist at training, and because of persistent swelling in the area, the club opted to have it scanned late yesterday, which subsequently revealed a small fracture. He has been replaced in the squad by young defender Rhett Bazzo.”
West Coast also revealed a double blow with small forward Isiah Winder withdrawn from Saturday’s WAFL encounter with reigning premiers West Perth with a knee complaint. “The Eagles have also been forced to withdraw midfielder/forward Isiah Winder from today’s WAFL Eagles team because of a knee injury,” the statement said. “He reported soreness in his left knee post training on Thursday, and the club will continue to investigate the issue and the club will have more clarity early next week.”
A debt is a debt, he's lucky a broken arm isn't all he gotProbably owed Nisbett $5 for a coffee 2 weeks ago and Trev had to take matters into his own hands.
This aged wellGood thing we dropped Hewett to the Beagles for development.
He'd be much better in the seniors. Burgiel might need an early taste as well.
Whomever is in charge of ankles at the club needs to be sacked.
The ankle coach, probably.Wasn’t there some silly probably untrue rumour going around here that apparently the physio team don’t strap the players ankles for some reason??
Definitely just bad luck again
More bad luck
What would you call it then?
Not every injury is bad luck but the vast majority since the derby carnage have been. Including that game :
Ryan - Hamstring after landing on his head
Sheed - Fractured throat at training
Hewett - Ankle injury
Shuey - Hamstring
Cripps - broken ankle
Chesser - Knee injury
McGovern- Hamstring (was as fit as he’s ever been)
Winder - knee injury
Witherden - concussion (has now recovered)
Cole - stress related injury on previously injured ankle
Edwards - fractured wrist
That’s 11 injuries in the space of a fortnight at least 7 of which are contact/collision related
Of the other 4 Shuey can’t be considered bad luck. McGovern maybe/maybe not. Winder and Cole we don’t know enough about either to say either way
From the players still unavailable from prior to the derby, both Jamieson and Williams were collision injuries. Naitanui, we’ll that’s just how it is and not necessarily bad luck
Collision injuries account for at least 9 of our 14 outs. That’s bad luck when you consider that 3 others could also be considered unlucky
So yeah, it’s bad luck
I mean, you allude to it yourself in the post but then get all defensive. Injuries to injury prone older players isn't bad luck. The crazy amount of lower leg injuries to often the same players (Cole/Chesser) isn't bad luck.
I'm not sure why it's so taboo to say so
