If I had to guess Yeo himself was pushing to come back and was deemed no risk in coming back early.

We have a largely new medical team who weren’t wholly familiar with Yeo’s history.
Again as has been said, change isn’t instantaneous.

It could just be soreness so I’m not going to melt yet, but if he misses 6-8 weeks with a hamstring I’ll be livid.

That’s definitely fair. From someone who saw him after, there was no noticeable sign of injury, ice etc. so it’s all a mystery.

I’d definitely err on the side of caution and give him a rest next week.

As he was walking off just after talking to Simmo one of the other coaches came up and patted him on the back consoling him. Hopefully nothing but we all know which way our luck with injuries has been running

Oh. Will be a few weeks then :(

I can’t see him being a FT mid again. He (Yeo) was really complimentary of the new S&C boss Kilgallon in the interview prior to Round 1. Hoping (possibly against hope) that the change in program will take effect and he can still be a contributor for a couple more years…

Weren’t familiar with Yeos history? Was Stephen dank in charge of the records? That’s a cop out.

An inconvenient possibility. Until you see something first hand one can be sceptical.

In typically opaque fashion Simpson said he "was too sore to come back on". Clear as mud.

I'd give you odds it's another soft tissue and another month or so on the sidelines.

But there is some positive to this, at least we know where we stand with Yeo. We can now confidently add him to the list of players including Naitanui/Shuey/McGovern who are clearly beyond repair and should be shown the exit door as soon as practically possible.

I’m guessing they don’t know yet. Not at all a fan of the transparency gymnastics but I’m okay with this.

Under the goroyals22 school of contracts we’d be playing 22 first years.

Yeo pulling a me at 8:45am on a Sunday morning when asked what's going on with the gardening:

"Just too sore to finish it up today, soz." cracks a tin*

*yes, at 8:45am

Biggest mistake I made at Easter wasn't eating too much chocolate or drinking too much beer. It was weeding the verge at 7am on Good Friday. Hamstrings hurt for the whole weekend after, could hardly walk.

I don’t understand when people say we made all these changes to S&C. Just one position changed? Or am I missing something?

Same doctor, physio's and high performance manager in Kofoed. But the head of strength and conditioning changed so I guess that's something.

How many times can the club make the same mistake of forcing injury-prone players into the senior side without managed game time in the WAFL?

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
