SFNL HQ in discussions to re-fixture D4 for the remainder of the year.

Why not just leave it the way it is and see the year out? Clubs have locked in their social calendars, players have booked holidays and trips for bye rounds.

Would give local footy a big buzz!

Don’t mind it. Could have debates on who’s in what division but looks a lot better then the 6 (7) team Div 4 at the moment.
Looks good but Carrum from Division 3 should go wherever the rest of the SFNL southern sides go and that would even up the Division 4 too!

They emailed clubs today
Amateur hour from the league again. Some decisions being made at the top are very questionable.

Some clubs lists aren’t deep and come July/Aug (injuries, overseas trips etc) clubs will have to forfeit their reserves team. So having another bye is not that bad in Div 4.

Give South Yarra the chance to regroup and plan for 2024… not smash clubs reserves who can only put 14-16 players on the park.

Not sure the league had another option unless Sth yarra just toughed it out for the year, every clubs been there, Sth Morno would regularly have 8-10 blokes play two games a day in 2019 just to get the ressies out there, the question is can Sth Yarra make the twos finals they are only 3 games behind fourth placed Dandy who they play this week, Also interesting that Sth yarras twos don’t have a bye? While Lyndale, Doveton and South all have two? How does that work

Surely South Yarra just align themselves in the Thirds competition for the next few years? I know it has a lot of teams already but the club clearly can't attract players and the 'Thirds' comp is probably where they are at.

If they go into recess for a season or two they will never comeback.

Sth yarra went into recess in 2006 and won a grand final in 2008. They should have been put into 3rds grade this year but league didnt want them to!

You would think sth Yarra would have copped the two byes given it’s them who have disrupted the fixture.

It would also have made it harder for them to roll into finals and take the place a genuine reserves side. That would be unfair if it happens.

Yeah agree, They have given them every chance to make the finals in the twos. No byes, they play 4th 3 times so if they win those 3 and beat Doveton twice that sets them up, two games v Hampton and only play the top two once each, nicely set up for them 😉

Send them to the 3rds, 15 teams and have a top 8 finals system. BANG!
