The coach is a fkwit for that. Watch them get pumped by a much more competitive lyndale and loose the cup if you’re a new coach coming into a side you need to respect the leader of the club and work with them not against them.

The coach was not the only one to make the decision to sack the captain the executive committee agreed and was for the captain getting sacked. Other players were not happy with him as he didn't stand up to being a leader. There were about 5 or 6 players that walked after they heard the news. He was not told to leave the club, the coach was happy for him to keep playing at the club. It was his choice to leave. There is always 2 sides to a story.....

Seems a crazy call at this time of year. Wait till clearances are shut at least lol.

The coach went through the right protocol's and spoke to the executive committee first and they all agreed that the captain was not doing his role.

The coach wanted to do it asap and he did not tell him to leave he was happy for him to keep playing at the club. But If he wanted to leave he had time to get a clearance.

There were only 5 or 6 players that walked. The rest have stayed so the coach must be doing something right.

Not sure the league had another option unless Sth yarra just toughed it out for the year, every clubs been there, Sth Morno would regularly have 8-10 blokes play two games a day in 2019 just to get the ressies out there, the question is can Sth Yarra make the twos finals they are only 3 games behind fourth placed Dandy who they play this week, Also interesting that Sth yarras twos don’t have a bye? While Lyndale, Doveton and South all have two? How does that work

Last year the club struggled to get 2 sides together and had to forfeit ressies games through the season, then a new coach comes on board and players that left came back to the club and have had new players register with the club. They can now field 2 sides comfortably and players miss out each week on getting a game. So go figure where was the problem?

To take captaincy off someone mid season is the biggest kick in the teeth possible. That is exactly saying he is a bad person, coach and captain, it’s the worst thing you can do to a person at a footy club
