just saw the post is it suggesting they don't have enough players to field a team (or two) or are the financially struggling to stay afloat?Dandenong in a bit of strife, they have posted a call to arms on their home page.
They have retained most of the playing group for the past 4 or so years, Clearly something has changed since then to make it revert back. The club was going to close years ago, but they got back on on their feet. Not sure what has changed since then. Isnt it a new committee ext now? Could even be thatFrom 60 plus players 2 years ago telling everyone they would knock off frankston and Lyndhurst to this that’s the problem with paying young kids money they play the season get there money and realise how bad they club is run and they are out the door at the end of the season

Rumor is they have no numbers now. No numbers = financial struggle as you need players to generate income. Oh well, why dont they revert back to the Redlegs LOL . Thats what they do when the club turns to sh&tjust saw the post is it suggesting they don't have enough players to field a team (or two) or are the financially struggling to stay afloat?

Verdict in for the MPFNL clubs wanting into the Southern league’s Open Grade
The final decision on the two MPFNL teams hoping to field a stand-alone side in the Southern league is in, while there’s a name change and two divisions also set for the competition.

Mornington Peninsula league club’s Edithvale-Aspendale and Pearcedale have been denied entry into the Southern league’s Open Grade competition.
Open Grade, previously called Thirds, was attractive to the Eagles and Dales, who have an excessive number of players.
It’s understood the Edithvale-Aspendale has over 100 interested players while Pearcedale has surpassed 80.
The two clubs were asked to follow the application process like every Southern league club but their place in the competition was to be assessed by the board.
The board has since opted against Edithvale-Aspendale and Pearcedale’s position in the competition.
Open Grade will be two divisions this season as opposed to the 14-team competition last year.
Sandown, Bentleigh and South Mornington-Cerberus look to be making way for Cheltenham, Black Rock and the returning Hallam.
Impressively, Lyndhurst has applied for two Open Grade teams.
A number of teams will confirm their place in the competition over the coming week.
Can’t be part of two leagues you pick one plain and simple. Great decision by league.Very myopic decision making here - why not let some clubs in to keep blokes in the game?

Women's team still going in the MPNFLDoes this mean Cerebrus are officially folded as well? Gone like Sandown have
Not sure this is the best solution, the Peninsula league would have Dromana and Red Hill beating up on Rye, Hastings and Crib Point. I do agree with you that the structure of leagues in the area needs a re-vamp, although the south east needs it first.

Yeah when in the 1800s? Sends the wrong message.Don’t agree with that. In the past noble played their 18s in eastern when still in southern as southern had no 18s. Clayton more recently aligned with oakleigh ammos to form ‘oakleigh clays’ in vafa 19s
