There's some chat on the broadcast about the whether the pitch is part of the problem as it (apparently, I didnt watch it) was in the first test.

Thoughts from those who have been watching more closely? It's obviously always hard to say until you see other team bat.

South Africa won the toss and batted fwiw

It's doing a fair bit, but so was the pitch in the first Test and SA got 400. Siraj has just bowled incredibly well on it.

Well, if your Country's Board doesn't show a great interest in your Test Team, ie, the D team they are sending to NZ for T20s at home, then don't expect your players to show the interest in return. This is the result.
Does everyone have Amnesia of the very last test match just over a week ago where they thrased India?

These kind of things are wild, but it's unfair to connect this to a decision to prioritise SA20 over their test touring squad for one series. Hell, India were bowled out for ~20 runs less in Adelaide 3 years ago.

Reckon I'm not far off. Happens right after.

Lowest score against India in Test cricket.
You really don't hear that much about that 83 from Australia in 1981. Failing to get close to 143 is a very bad collapse. Was that India's first test win here? (Edit: just looked, no)

This.
No sport is followed with such an alarming lack of time awareness as cricket

Hmm. I’d say it probably owes a fraction more to the fact that they have an already inexperienced test line up, with its most reliable recent performer (albeit he can’t convert a 50 to save his life) out injured, and batsmen 3-6 boasting 19 matches worth of experience between them than anything else.

There's something in this pitch - Rabada is certainly looking solid in the short period so far.
