Id trade anyone for a shot at Day. I think he'll be a once in a generation player.

I agree.

It could mean some big pegs touble from within our structure, but let's accept the fact these pegs have been shakey for the last three seasons.

GC need a FB, offer Bobby straight up to them with Rodan for Pick 3 and a verbal they won't take Day :) Bugger they could have Motlop too lol

Glad you are not trading for us! What if Day decides footy is not his thing and heads to the US to follow up his Baseball career!!

I'm sure any club would get a commitment from him pre draft, wouldn't you?

Why would Norwood 'insiders' need to be involved - surely it would be that our scouts do their job and drive to Norwood Oval or watch the ABC telecast.

From Norwood I would rather us consider Duigan or Puopolo with a punt on Dawes as a rookie.

The player I like from Norwood is Shenton - a tall, mobile, strong marking forward.

Why would he? He'll still get picked up if he doesn't commit to football.

Does anyone know about D.Armitage from the Saints? I think we've been linked to him a few times and for whatever reason he and L.Ball (Who Armitage was set to replace this season) are not rated by Ross. Could he be valuable to our side or is he just a good ordinary?

Keeping with the Norwood theme I reckon Dean Terlich would be the best from thier group. Looks very skilled and was invited to train with us last season. Good size, goal kicking mid/forward.

(if someone picks him up he might want to make some slight alterations to his facebook page:D)

And I am guessing his commitment is a 2 year rookie deal? You would want to hope at the end of that he did not 'retire' and make his way to follow his fathers dream and have him play baseball.

Alan Richardson has gone to Carlton as senior assistnt coach and Hawthorn seem to have been making an enquiry about Motlop

Hmmm would be a big call on his part. His development would slow in other sports once he's commited to AFL and full time training.

If he did so be it I guess.

Sort of the reason to be careful not to sell the farm to get him. He may end up being the greatest player in history, and we may look back and think we should have made a deal, but you know about hindsight and all that!!

Yeah, as Rick said... plus the fact that he's guaranteed a career in the AFL, whereas it's a lot LOT harder to break into pro sports in America, especially for an Aussie kid who so far is all about "potential".

But that potential if it translates into football domination is insane. With great risk comes great reward. I can't see the Gold Coast letting him go though. They'd be absolutely stoopid to do that.

But in life the greatest rewards sometimes take the greatest risks. In our instant Bobby is expendable, but with a high trade value but for us reasonably replacable eg Trengove.

Not that it will likely happen BUT if it did IMO it would be worth the risk, if he stays in Adelaide, close to family, he may be happy to stay put.

At the end of the day, we need to draft a superstar because we sure as hell won't recruit one.

Day could be the man. Day also allows us the trade out Westhoff and if we could get an upgrade from pick 16 to 12 or 14, that may result in Brodie Smith and Day. Elite mid and Forward.

We think alike. What did North get Carey for? What about Freeo with Mcleod? GC has so much young talent it isn't funny. If they got Bobby at FB it would seal their defence so it's a good get. Footy history is cluttered with trading could have beens turned into greatness.

They are saying Hawthorn has big interest in Mots. I wonder if they want him on the cheap, is he worth their first round or are there any players that they could include in the trade.

Hawthorn just withdrew their interest on Motters and his manager will be interviewed on AFL trade week radio

Just heard that too on Trade Week Radio...

What do you think you guys would offer? His manager said a pick between 10-20 would land him, not sure what your view on that is.

Pass on that thanks, 2nd rounder or a player or Krak compo pick maybe.

Oh, not Taylor Walker? :p

I thought we might be half a chance to cut the crows lunch on Jacobs if they couldn't come to an arrangement with Carlton. ;)

Looks like the crows have settled on Tambling. Their supporters were saying they were unlikely to try and get Walker and Tambling.

PS do we have shares in a shoulder reconstructive biotech company?
