There starting to get a injury list that WCE had this time last pre-season

Wilkie , Cordy, Webster
Coffield, Howard, Sinclair
Hill, Crouch, McKenzie (or Wood )
Sharman, Butler , Membrey
Phillipou, Battle, Higgins

Marshall, Steele , Windhager

Ross, Wangeneen-Milera, Clark, Gresham : Byrnes

Forward line without King and Hayes remains a little flimsy but i don't see a heap of surprise rookies there to boost my afl fantasy team.

Zak Jones - Achilles (3-4 weeks)
Max King - Shoulder (6-8 weeks)
Jack Hayes - Foot (6-8 weeks)
Tim Membrey - Knee (1-2 weeks)

Matthew Allison - Foot (12-15 weeks)
Daniel McKenzie - Calf (Indefinite)
Leo Connolly - Unknown?
Olli Hotton - Back (12-15 weeks)
Isaac Keeler - Knee (6-8 weeks)
Angus McLennan - Back (12-15 weeks)

5 that matter.

Zak Jones - whipping boy
Max King - Shoulder (6-8 weeks)
Jack Hayes - drafted as a 26 yo supplement player
Tim Membrey - Knee (1-2 weeks)
Matthew Allison - Foot (12-15 weeks) unproven
Daniel McKenzie - 26 yo who has played 73 games
Leo Connolly - Unknown? Pick 64 in 2019 draft
Olli Hotton - Back (12-15 weeks) yet to debut
Isaac Keeler - Knee (6-8 weeks) yet to debut
Angus McLennan - Back (12-15 weeks) yet to debut

Actually 2 that matter like most teams. Clutching at straws.

Daniel McKenzie was pretty good last year.

Obviously not a superstar though and got other guys that can play wing, so yeah. Probably not the difference between wins and losses.

King Hayes Membrey McKenzie Jones Billings all very important players.

King and Membrey very important.
Hayes ,McKenzie, Jones , Billings, probably would have been selected round 1.
Membrey still likely round 1.
Jones , who knows, looks a bit like he's replaced Hannebury on our list.

Maybe go back to last year and see why our form went from decent to shit, Mackenzie went down with an injury and the team went to shit. Coincidence? Maybe or Mackenzie is a vital player for the Saints

I went back and saw he wasn't awarded a single coaches vote.
So neither coach thought he was in the best 5 players on the ground in any game last year.

If your whole form line depends on Daniel Mackenzie.. guess it says a lot about the list in total.

I dont think anyone would suggest our form line is dependent on him but hes really important sturcturally as our defensive wingman who gets back to take space and assist the defenders.

Most teams have one or two that outsiders wouldnt rate but internally are super important.

I mean mick literally just said St Kilda's form went from good to bad when he got injured.

Yeah, often you see those internally rated players popping up in the coaches votes (even just 1-2 votes) given it's a direct representation of your coaches assessment of the game. Hence why I reviewed that metric.

We went poorly after he got injured because out structure went to shit. Thats his role and his ability to play it. Realistically we should have someone to fill that role but we dont.

Ratts is and was a pretty poor judge of what was and is important.

Anyway im not going to lament any of it just pointing out hes comfortable a best 22 player and his injury does effect us.

Or maybe BnF results. Role players I reckon do better there (pending the club) than necessarily Coaches votes

Well safe to say the Saints are no longer in no man's land.

Understand they were missing some of their forwards, but the way they got cut up through the middle and lack of 2 way running makes decent forwards irrelevant.

Definitely bottom 4.

So I guess the dees aren’t really contending then?

You beat us by 10 goals with your best 22 meanwhile Geelong beat the Hawks by 14 goals missing a few.

It’s not even March champ, probably have a lay down.

I don’t think it would actually be a bad result because I am sure there are quite a few who will get the bullet at the end of this year.

St Kilda really are a very difficult team to assess (talent wise) esp given they seemingly are cursed with injuries again.

The Jade Gresham contract status intrigues me, one of St Kilda's most important and valuable players, yet, as a neutral observer I would probably prefer the probable band 1 compo they would get for him (top 10 pick)

Ross Lyon should provide them with much needed stability and discipline.. (which is a more crucial quality than you may think)

No we didn't, not at all. But if it helps you sleep at night...
I sleep fine cause I couldn’t give a rats ass about the Dees. Unlike you in a thread desperately trying to shit on a team you reckon is irrelevant.

Why don’t you just enjoy your flag from 21?
