No we didn't, not at all. But if it helps you sleep at night...
Funny thing is that Demons best 22 can match it with anyone by after the best 22 it gets real thin.
Better hope that Dees don't get to many injuries like last year and have a year more like 2021.

Should never have got rid of the big Hick! Thanks Alan Richardson

At the time we had two almost hack ruckmen Longer, and Hickey. Then we had a crap backup in Pierce and Marshall coming through.
I don't think they got rid of Hickey, i think he was the one they got an offer for.
Crap luck both Longer and Pierce both retiring due to concussion the following season.

Ummm.... As in so thin we are the regining VFL premiers?

Geelong won it last year because they had a soft draw coming home and could manage player loads coming into the finals. It was the opposite in 2021 for us and the cats. The rerality is that the top 3 or 4 sides are that close its about whoever has there best 22 availible will win it.

Not for Geelong, there best 25 is that good that they have luxuries that teams like Melbourne, Richmond and Bulldogs don't have. Real depth.
If you had such a good amount of depth, what happened last year?
Forward line is flimsy at best and backline is batting 7 deep and then nothing after that.
Don't get me wrong, your best 22 is good enough but after that...

WTF? The Cats VFL side were trash. How can you possibly reach that conclusion??

I feel for saints fans, would love to see them with the flag, sadly it looks a bit far off. But as Melbourne demonstrated it's possible to turn things around quickly so why not the saints.

Not sure why anyone would hold too much emphasis on a practice match though, we have no idea what each team was tryng to achieve out of it.

What?! 😳

Maybe go back to last year and see why our form went from decent to s**t, Mackenzie went down with an injury and the team went to s**t. Coincidence? Maybe or Mackenzie is a vital player for the Saints
But the difference is that this season , saints have Ross Lyon as coach. Surely that counts for something

It’s like RTB never left.
“Keep them to 40 we only need 60”
Glad rd 1 is a day game, defence vs defence only shields no swords it will be an ode to Roos vs worsfold.
I love RTB he will get them fighting for the 8
Concerning that Ross doesn't know how the scoring system works.

Think Ross will use this as a development season. Got a brilliant group of kids and Ben McKay is almost certain to be at the Saints next season.
